It's true. Over here we disrespect police alot. It's probably because we grew up knowing they collect #20 on check points so we hated them and disregarded them. If you show them a bit of respect, two things happens, they either take advantage of you and let you off.
yea most people let what they hear control how they talk to the officer, you will see a driver arguing with them , a passenger also shouting, like that is rude, let them do their work...
I think 70 percent will let you off if you are very polite with them
