Which languages are most commonly spoken and written there? Are the library books mainly in English, or another local language? Sadly, my knowledge of African nations is quite limited, and Nigeria is known more for the "Nigerian Prince" e-mail scams than anything else around here.

English is the most commonly spoken language here and yes most of the books in the library are written in English. However, there are a few books there that are written in local languages.
Africa is a really great nation and you'd definitely enjoy learning about it. By "here", where are you referring to if I may ask?
I know asking for info about "Africa" is almost as vague as asking about "Asia." What are your personal experiences with your history, culture, conflicts, cooperation, etc?
