They just do not want to see it that way and because of their position; wealth, power, affluence, they think what they are doing is right, whereas, it is wrong.
That's most of the categories of people behave. There are people who deem their actions to be unquestionable, because they think they can never be wrong. Deep down in their heart, they're always having this moral justification within them that they can never be wrong, but the truth is they've lost the ability to be conscious and be aware and let it influence them.
As for your sister, the truth is that you've deemed it necessary to do things differently, if not, your sister wouldn't be able to influence you like that, if the decision didn't subconsciously come from you. It's always good to acknowledge the need to do things differently.
