THEY REALLY TRAMPLED ON MY RIGHT

In a country like Nigeria, bullying and all forms of inhuman activities has so become the other of the day, so much that most people no longer know their rights because everyone feel it's a normal thing. And for those who even know their rights, are always helpless in defending themselves when their rights are abuse. What's worse is that even those who know once right is abused end up neglecting the person when they try to stand up for what they think is right all because they are afraid of having any issue with those who trample on the right of others. This itself is a human right abuse.

I have had my fair share of human right abuse, although I was hurt, but it never occurred to me that my rights were being abused and I should report to the authorities, although looking at the police system in Nigeria, reporting to the authorities wouldn't also seem as a good plan, as I had once witness the court strike a case against my dad even after presenting all facts of him being victimized, and ever since then I've had phobia involving the authorities in civic matters, I will just let them go instead.

When I just entered school, I was pared in the same room with a mischievous rich kid whose dad was well known in the state. But then his fathers wealth was not enough for him to quit stealing and joining cultism. At a point in school he asked if I could help him with one of my phones with the excuse that his dad sized his and he needed to make some calls where he was going. Though I knew him to be mischievous, I gave him still. Only for him to come back that day telling me he sold my phone, like there was nothing I could do about it. (Physically he's a cultist, so I couldn't really do anything to him if I wanted to be safe) I decided I will report to the school authorities, but the rector warned me never to bring such matter to him or mention it to anyone else I will be expelled for trying to paint the school name bad to the public.

Out of fear I kept quiet, I wasn't really angry (I hardly get angry though) but then I was hurt and frightened to hell, hurt because I lost my phone, and scared because I now knew the height of his mischievousness and that staying with him could put my life in danger. So I called my dad and told him I needed to leave the hostel because there was an infection spreading. (It was true though, but then I knew my true reason for leaving)

My right to justice and speech was abused and there was absolutely nothing I could do about it.

This is my human right abuse story, I hope you picked a thing or two from it.

Thanks again for stopping by my blog today, until next time.

Sorry about that. It’s really sad. The people with power punish those who don’t.

I hope you got a better place to stay..

You gave him the chance to mess with your rights cause you were scared of what might come up later.

Thanks for sharing.
