The more genuine you are, the more you will suffer in this world. If you are somewhat good at studies and responsible towards your family, your entire family will place mountainous expectations on you. If you fail to fulfill those expectations, you will be deemed the most unsuccessful person in the world.
If you are responsible at your workplace, more work will be piled on you. If you perform well due to your competence, you will become an eyesore to others. At the end of the day, neither your workplace nor your colleagues will remember your contributions.
If you study well and achieve good results, you will be considered a nerd. For wasting your valuable time in exams instead of helping someone else, you will be labeled as terribly selfish.
If you are honest and serious in a relationship, you will be taken for granted. Your partner will realize that no matter what they do, you will forgive them. Your emotions will hold no special value to them.
If you follow rules and stand in line somewhere, you will see how many people cut in front of you. If you drive following the lane, you will notice cars on the wrong side overtaking you. Such examples can be given endlessly throughout the day.
If you are not reckless, irresponsible, cunning, deceitful, boastful, dominant, opportunistic, or unprincipled, you will be crushed at every step. The more genuine you are, the more you will be used by others. The more fake and careless you are, the more you will prosper. As a genuine person, you will neither be able to achieve anything nor become like them. You will repeatedly be held back by your conscience. This is your fate.

I completely understand what you mean. Being genuine can definitely be exhausting because the world values immediate results and appearances, but in the end, staying true to yourself is what brings inner peace, even if it’s harder.
