Truth be told, it's been a while since I sat down to really read a physical book. Most times when I try to, I often get distracted. But I can very well remember the last one I really took time out to read, it was titled God's Generals. It was after a Sunday service, while gisting with one of my friends at the back of the church, I saw it in his hands together with his Bible. I have come across it online a thousand times and it seems there are a lot of books with same title l, maybe they were being written by different individuals and maybe they also talked about different men of God as well. I can't really say, I asked him to borrow me and he said he's still reading it as well, but he would borrow me to return by the following Sunday. I guess the deadline he gave me was what really motivated me to read it through.

The book was a little bit old and very thick. It told stories of both men and women of God, it told stories of people who gave their lives to serving God, it talked about their life, their fears, their failures l, their faith, their encounters l, their courage and the likes. Mind you, I didn't just finish it in one sitting. But I really enjoyed reading it and I bless the guy who gave it to me.
I was once a lover of books, not as if I dont love books anymore, but I don't read physical books the way I used to. Back then there was no phone and such, so I really have time to visit the library and read, my dad was a librarian as well sometimes ago, so I have a lot of access to books, I read, I borrow, and the likes, from novels, to story books, to plays, to motivational books, spiritual ones and all. But now, most of the books, nope, everything I now read now comes from my phone. It's faster and easier, but still there's the difference. Physical books actually carries a different kind of weight, aside that you get to flip the pages, smell the scent of ink and the papers. I remember underlining some parts with pencil while reading the book Gods generals, I can very well remember folding some pages so I can go back to read those deep parts. I doubt how easy that will be on a phone.
Thinking back now, I think I bought a physical book about 3years ago, and guess what, I am yet to complete reading it till now. Knowingly or unknowingly, phones have replaced most of these things, there's always something online, either a post, a movie, a meme, some reels, trending stuffs and the likes that always tend to pull us away. When I read God's Generals, I realized how much I have missed out on reading.
I would like to pick up another book soon, just want things to be a little calm first, there's one I saw at a friends place, and I will definitely get my hands on it, it's a Christian book as well, I'm yet to see the title but seeing the author's name is enough to push me to read it, it was written by Pastor Femi Lazarus. He's a man I respect and love his teachings a lot. I know I may not really have the time, and it's just better to create time for it now rather than to procrastinate, it's me developing, building and creating time for myself as well.

Physical books allow us note things down, reflect and the likes, I know I have not been serious about it, but I would do well to adjust henceforth. We don't have to always fix our eyes on the screen to get answers, solutions and knowledge about some things, there are times those answers, knowledge and solutions are sitted there in that black and white or brownish books waiting for you to just flip and turn their pages.
