My Reading Therapy

in Hive Learners12 days ago

We all have our own style of reading, but reading holds similar importance, which I can describe as being for fun, to learn, or to understand better. Every day, we grow and learn new things through reading or life experiences. Reading is not only through books, we can also read things around us, including human expressions and behavioural responses to things around us.

To some of us, reading is like a therapy to cool and calm our minds down, while others just read to learn. I learnt the art of reading when I discovered my reading style, which I still do to date. This style helps me to assimilate what has been read easily and never forget it until I don't keep it in mind again. This is why I said we must learn to discover our art of reading to be able to enjoy reading perfectly.

I read for a while, then take 5 5-minute break to play. This is my major method of reading to assimilate, especially when it comes to cramming, some people get to recite what they are reading alongside their reading and this is their habit to learning, the funny thing about me is that in once tried that style of reading and I totally forgot everything I read, not because i want to forget but because I was not used to it. The five-minute break u take helps me to calm my mind and release the stress of thoughts that may be making me lose focus on what I am reading.

I also have a weird habit of reading, and it works perfectly for me especially if what I am reading does not demand full focus, thishelps to make me gain focus on what is reading, which Is, I get to play music's to read and not just random music, I mean slow music like melody, most times gospel music, or tory lanes style of music, I get to assimilate faster when reading with music's, I know his is weird but it helps me to assimilate faster. Not everyone sees READING as fun because we haven't discovered our style of READING, but the truth is, reading is really fun, especially when we get to visualise what we are reading in our minds and see what it can do or achieve for us.

Reading with music is a really fun thing to do, and I would love some of you to try this style out. This is my therapy, especially after reading, and I just want to sit down and assimilate what has been read. I will just get to sit down and assimilate what has been read well with good, slow music. I still engage in reading for a few minutes and take 5 5-minute breaks; this is my best way of reading. Sometimes, I exceed more than 5 minutes, especially if I have a lot going on in my mind. My biggest secret in reading is that I can't read 1 hour straight, I need a break, either for a few minutes, or I won't understand or assimilate it faster.

I keep finding it difficult to get back into my reading groove even though I used to enjoy it as a boy. Do you have any suggestions just so I can get back to my one true love?🥺🥺.
All the same this is an interesting write up I love it

I get to play music's to read

I used to do this but one mad song will not sneak in and I totally forget I was actually reading. Maybe a reading playlist would've saved my reading moments but I guess I just enjoy it more when it's just me and the pages

I have a friend too who would always listen to music before he can read or assimilate. I tried it and failed woefully. In fact I wasted that whole day of trying to read

So like you said, everyone has their own mode of reading, their own reading therapy
