As much as we are one people, we can’t all be ruled by one government or person and that’s why we have different countries with their individual leaders. And these leaders come together to make their country a better place for their people. Collaboration is a major part of being a leader and it’s more than obvious that all of the countries we have on earth are collaborating with each other in one way or the other. I know that Nigeria provides Ghana with about 15% of our gas and I’m sure that Ghana also provides Nigeria with something, maybe electricity or some natural resources.
This is how the world has been able to keep moving because no country has it all and that’s why we have each other. In recent times, the story has been different. Yes, most countries are collaborating with each other but not for the greater good. There has been the emergence of so many minor and major wars across the globe and when you find out about what sparked these wars, you’d be left in shock because you’d find out that some countries are at war for no reason at all if not for the selfish interest of their leaders.
Everyone is selfish in one way or the other but as a leader, I believe your people must come first. But the story is different , most of our leaders put the lives of their own people at risk but going to find trouble for the country. Let’s take the issue of Israel and Palestine for example. The was could have been ended sooner but their leaders being selfish rather preferred to sacrifice their people just to make a name for themselves. From what I know about this Israel - Palestine war, I would say it goes beyond just a clearing out a whole country for a few people. Things could have been talked out and these hostages returned to their country. But no, someone wants to prove a point and wouldn’t mind putting the lives of million of people at risk.
Sadly, these leaders aren’t really affected because before anything would happen, they probably would have flown their entire family to safety and also be safe. What about the citizens? No one cares- they are like the pawns in a game of chess. This is why I always say that it’s really not worth putting your life on the line for a political party or someone in power. These people would be nowhere to be found when you need help or safety. And so, let’s all make it a point to protect ourselves and our loved ones for one leader is coming to save you.

As a leader you suppose to have the interest of your people first.
Is because they are not affected that is the main reason why they are selfish, if it gets to them they will surely do the needful.
It’s always the citizens who pay the price, never the leaders. We do live in this “global village,” but borders and political interests end up complicating everything. In the end, all we can do is take care of ourselves and the people we love
