Gone were the days when people had to use birds to send messages to one another. Then we moved to giving our messages, gifts and why have you to people travelling in the direction we need it to go. Not to forget about the time we all had to use one mobile phone or computer to send messages. Today, the story is different. With just a single tap of your phone, you can speak to stoke in any part of the walk, send the a message or even a gift or goods anytime and anywhere you are.
Thanks to technology, life has actually become very easy for us all. I don’t know how some of us would have survived without all the technology we have in l it world today. Social media as we all know has grown to be an integral part of our lives today. Someone once said a mobile phone or an electronic device without data is better off not having because then, it would be of no use to you. In a way, it’s true because without internet data or connectivity, the only thing you’d have left to do on your phone would probably be to play an offline game, watch an offline money or calculate the small money you have left using your calculator app.
I quite remember when social media started becoming common in my part of the world. Then, everyone way using Facebook and so I also created an account and funny enough, I met most of my good friends and connections there. It was good for a while until it started getting addictive. I was a teen who didn’t have anything to worry about then. And so I would stay up late chatting or looking at what very I could on Facebook. Then we had instagram, whatsapp and many more come into the picture. Now, people have moved from facebook to other social media app. Some of us also find ourselves everywhere. From Facebook to instagram, to Snapchat to TikTok and the rest.
At times I wonder if it isn’t exhausting because I’m really barely unable to keep up with the two social media accounts I have. If you ask me to ban one social media platform for life to never be used by people again, I wouldn’t even think twice. My first choice would be TikTok. You’d probably be wondering why. I understand that everything has its good and bad sides. TikTok is good in the sense that most people are able to earn a living off of the app, others use the app to learn or relax. Aside these, I really don’t see any use of this platform. First of all, it’s very time consuming and addictive. Once you just open that app, it’s like you have been struck by a spell. I’ve been there before and so I know what I’m talking about.
People have become so addicted to TikTok they literally are not productive in their lives anymore. Until when will we log out of the TikTok app and get to work instead of procrastinating all day long. Next, I haven’t seen a social media platform where people leave so much hate comments and say all sorts of things to others under their posts. Sometimes I read comments from people and I can already feel the toxicity from afar. It’s so sad but that’s where some of us surprisingly derive joy from. As bad as it looks and sounds, nothing is being done about this and this part of the reasons I’d ban the app.
The main reason for this decision would be to bring everyone back to their reality, remind them of their goals and also make them work towards their targets instead of spending 24 hours a day on TikTok smiling and laughing while others are making money off your laughter. TikTok being banned wouldn’t really make a big difference as another app would instant replace it, but it would at least bring people back to their senses for the time being.

I share same sentiments towards tiktok and agree with you that it should be ban, although it impacts won't be much, but it's a start.

And of a truth, a lot of people had rely lost focus while chasing trends and all, instead of focusing on self.
