Effort Can Birth Results: A Personal Experience

in Hive Learners2 months ago

Sometimes, we dedicate our time, effort, and resources to achieving a particular thing, but yet we watch it slip away. The feeling can be quite devastating depending on what you are looking forward to achieving. Currently, I have been asking myself many questions over a project I have dedicated my time and blood to, yet I am not seeing results. What have I not done? Effort? 100% . Hard work? A+, commitment? Just name it, but then, I have come to believe that not everything is under our total control. I have to just allow things to unfold naturally after doing my part.

However, there has been a time when I worked hard on something, and the result was exactly what I really hoped for and worth all the effort I put into it. Without further ado, let me share with you one of these experiences that happened recently.

When someone's brain has been constantly tortured due to a health challenge, having memory retention issues becomes inevitable. And so, one of the most fulfilling experiences I’ve had recently was with my first child’s academic progress. To say that I have been overly stretched is an understatement, but in all, I was determined to give my all and had an admirable result.

After so much struggle with the health challenge that has been affecting his brain, he started lagging behind academically. I wasn't pleased with his grades at all, even though I understand that it's not his fault; he used to be an intelligent child prior to the health issues, but yet, I didn't want to relax and say, After all, it is what it is. I believe he can still do better regardless. I employed a home lesson teacher, but then the guy wasn't patient enough with him, made one excuse, and stopped coming. I employed another female teacher, but it seems she has anger issues and would flare up if my son doesn't get a particular thing correctly as she expected. Watching these tutors display their attitude towards my child, I decided to take up the challenge myself.

I went online, searched for different learning techniques, and concentrated on the ones that would suit his strength. I told him stories using his note contents; we use interactive methods, repetitive methods, and a few other tactics I employed. Even though I defined this journey before I began, there were times I felt really frustrated and overwhelmed. I wondered if my hard work and effort would pay off, but I didn't stop; I kept pushing, doing what I was doing even more than how I started.

One thing I know is that consistency pays. Despite how exhausting this was at the beginning, I was consistently following up even with my numerous workloads as a wife, a mom, a realtor, and a writer. But then, a time came when he started improving seriously, getting higher grades, 80%, 75%, and beyond. I was like, Wow, it's working. His teacher called me one day and said, "Mummy Chisom, whatever it is you are doing at home with this boy, please continue". She went further to say that even some students without any brain issues aren't seeing him back nowadays. The news brought lots of laughter and relief to me.

All the days of my late-night revisions with him, repeating myself over and over again and words of encouragement, didn't go unnoticed. It was worth it. Now, I don't need too much effort to assist him, just a little nowadays, and he is good to go.

Seeing how determined he is to keep growing from the level he is now made me believe that truly efforts can birth results.

Hire Princess to be his tutor so you can have more time for other things. My fee isn't much. At least 50 HBD monthly is okay for a start...you might consider raising it high in the future 🤣🤣🤣

It can be overwhelming having to try different methods on a child and nothing is happening. But I learnt and realised something: we might think there's no improvement but there are which aren't noticeable yet, it's like being piled up and when it shows out, you will start wondering how come? Those little changes are there and this is why we must not give up but to keep doing it.
You are trying, I must say. I give it to you. God is your strength 💪

I have had some persons tell me this same thing and I am begining to believe that it's true

The goal is to remain consistent

It is good that you persevere and can now see the fruits of your labour. I am certain your son appreciates it and is happier to learn from you than mean teachers. Congratulations to both you and your son,.

It's inspiring and I think it was right decision to take the responsibility by yourself because no one could do well as you have done.

Wow... There's nothing quite like the feeling of seeing the things you worked hard for coming to life. You'll just feel so proud and happy, because you know that it's exactly how you envisioned it to be.

Impressive ma. You did well as a mum. And I have always enjoyed your journey as a mother and a parent. How I wish I could have that unknown woman in my life read this and keep following up with your journey. There is surely a lot to learn.
In addition, consistency is really hard but the results is sweet.

If only everything we had put effort into worked out most of us wouldn’t be where we are now but there is time for everything and that is why some efforts doesn’t bring good results while some will put a smile on our faces as long as we don’t give up on it.

Yes.. indeed, everything has time, we just have to do our very best in all we do and hope to achieve
