Not Asking For Help Makes The Weight Heavier.

in Hive Learnerslast month

Hello, everyone.

I welcome you to my blog and another wonderful edition of the Hive Learners' featured post. We have different categories of people walking the face of the earth; we have people who, before it even happens, know who they will reach out to for help. Those types of people see nothing wrong with asking for help and find it very easy to ask for help. There are those who are even known to ask for help at every given opportunity; some people don't even need to find themselves in a tight spot before they rush out to ask for help. At the slightest discomfort, they are already in people's DMs and calling people to ask for help.

I have a friend who, from the moment she sees that next week is going to be a bumpy ride for her, is already calling both family and friends to ask for help and asking that anyone who can come through for her and stop her from experiencing that bumpy ride that is coming please do what they can do. Some people see nothing wrong in asking for help, and truth be told, asking for help and actually receiving the help asked for actually makes the load lighter and easy to carry.

Then there is the category of people who find it very difficult to ask for help; instead, they try to find a way out of every problem on their own, and that makes coming out of a problem very difficult. Some of them have come to realize that they cannot always get it done on their own but have been wired in a way that asking for help is the last thing they turn to, so they only do it when they find themselves at a dead end with no other place to turn to. Asking for help feels like a taboo for them; it just feels like maybe after that they won't be seen the same way anymore, and for that reason, they avoid asking for help and do every possible thing so they don't have to ask for help.

I happen to be one of those who find it very difficult to ask for help, and it is not even something to brag about because those who don't ask for help tend to suffer more compared to those who find it very easy to ask for help. When you don't ask for help, you don't ask for help; you carry it all alone. No matter how heavy or how tired you are, the fact that you did not ask for help leaves you no other choice than to carry it all by yourself, as no one will be there to help you when you drop them. Not asking for help might teach you how to be independent, but it makes the weight heavier.

Not asking for help can actually help you earn the respect of both family and those around you, while asking for help all the time brings some level of disrespect, or those who you ask for help from start to disregard you in a way. Not everyone, but a large number of people have this belief that if they offer you help once or twice, then you should maybe worship them while they treat you differently.
