Hello, everyone.

Welcome to my blog and another wonderful edition of the Hive Learner's featured post. We owe a lot of thanks to the continuous improvement and evolution of technology; everything that we enjoy today is all a result of the evolution of technology. Today, life has been made really easy compared to what it used to be. Gone are the days where we had to spend days on the road before we arrived at our destination. Now, technology has made traveling really easy and fun. Those days before you embark on a journey, you must prepare your mind, body, and soul for what is coming.

No doubt technology really improved our lives, our forefathers would be jealous. Gone are the days where a letter takes months before it is delivered to the recipient. My mom told us how it took 3 months or even more before our dad's letters were delivered to her while he was serving in Liberia then, and it is left for you to be wondering if he was still alive and hearty in the space of the three months it took to deliver the letter, but today communication has been very effective as we get to pass our message across in a twinkle of an eye.

In some aspects of our lives, technology has gone too far, I'd say beyond limit, and in some aspects of life, more technology is needed. Technology is slowly eating up the world. We love and enjoy what technology is doing to our world, but despite the good it brings, it has its disadvantages too. It has improved life for all of us, but too much of it is causing more harm than good.

One aspect of life where technology has gone too far.

There are so many aspects of life where I feel technology has gone too far, but for this prompt, I am sticking to "genetic engineering." This simply refers to the act of manipulating the genes of plants and animals. Technology has evolved to the point where we can now decide the gender of our babies even before they are born. Since genes can be comfortably manipulated using technology, we are now in competition with our maker. It has even gotten to the point where another body can carry a pregnancy for a different person through in vitro fertilization.

As long as technology is good, I think it should have a limit. I strongly doubt if children whose genes were in one way or another manipulated can be as strong as those who were given birth to naturally.

One aspect of life in which more technology is needed.

We need more technology in the health sector of our world. Everyday, people lose a loved one to one of these dreaded diseases. To date, whenever I see videos of Nightbirde, who, after making her name known as a contestant on America's Got Talent, later died of cancer, I feel nothing but sadness. If only this technology could be channeled into providing cures for these dreaded diseases that has made it a sole aim to be taking loved ones away, then it'd be appreciated.

A lot of people have lost loved ones to these dread diseases with no cure, if only the time spent on advancing other technologies to the point of causing harm can be used to work on a cure then the rate at which we lose loved ones will be reduced drastically.

Thanks for reading my post.

I I strongly doubt if children whose genes were in one way or another manipulated can be as strong as those who were given birth to naturally.

Genetic engineering allows for selection of genes that favour health, strength and eliminates some disadvantages. That is to say that it is very possible to intentionally select those ones that favour strength and longevity while eliminating genes that are a source of weakness.

A good example is seen in plants, before now plants grew so tall before beginning to fruit but with genetic engineering in agriculture, then came the advent of plants that fruited quickly even as dwarfs

Also some fruits were modified to become sweeter than they used to be.
