Good day, people of Hive! Welcome to my blog. Today’s topic is from Hive-Learners which says: Monetization. So let’s dive in.

Firstly, what does content monetization mean? Content monetization means making money from what you post online.

When some people start creating content, they dress well and their content was okay But once they see that their videos get many viewers and viewers bring money—they begin to change. Money can make people act differently. Some content creators start doing thing just to get more attention, even things that don’t make sense. There is a popular saying: if you want to know someone’s true colour, wait until he/she have money.

Today, many content creators wear clothes that's revealing too much of their bodies because they know it will bring views. Some even do extreme things. For example, a few weeks ago while I was scrolling through TikTok, I saw a lady cooking noodles inside her toilet using the water from the toilet closet, just because she wanted people to watch her videos. That is how far some people are ready to go for people to views their content.

Some even post adult content because they know people will watch it and it's true, some people will go to their site to watch it. And the painful part is that people who post things that add no value sometimes get more views than those who post useful and decent content. It feels unfair because those who try to teach, inspire, or entertain in a respectful way often get less attention.

But the truth is that content creation is a job itself. Creators have to think, plan, look for a good place to record, set their camera, record many times, and edit the videos before posting. Many people use content to pay their school fees, build houses, buy cars, and improve their lives. Content does not make people lazy. Instead, people choose whether they want to be hardworking or lazy. I once heard that a popular Nigerian creator, Sabinus, used his content earnings to sponsor himself through his university, and he is not the only one.

Still, not every content should be paid for. Why should people who expose their bodies earn more than those who dress decently? The answer is simple—many platforms pay based on views, not value. And many viewers pay more attention to things that excite them quickly than things that bring value. So because of this, creators do what they know the audience wants. That is why some wear revealing clothes on purpose—because they know it will bring attention.

In conclusion, monetization has good and bad sides. It helps people make money, but it also makes some creators do extreme things just to get viewers. Not all content is worth paying for, and not all content adds value. At the end of the day, monetization is not the problem. It is how people use it that truly matters.

Truth be told, it is sad how content with less value are gaining more attention than valuable ones but that is the world we live in today. One thing you need to understand about most platform is that, the more attention they get the more revenue they are able to generate and the more viewers a content creator attracts to a platform the more the platform makes and the more the platforms pays the content creator. It is a symbiotic relationship.

Every platform is out there wants to make profit, but we can choose to ignore those less quality content and if those content stop getting attention, people will stop making them.

Yes, you're absolutely right. I just don't understand why content of less value are gaining more attention than those valuable one. That's because some people love want those less value content are doing, that's why.

That's why I spend less time on tiktok and social media. If I do I only watch funny or cartoon videos😁
