A Time Was Had

in Hive Learners16 days ago

Yesterday I wrote about how embolden I feel whenever I'm under the influence of alcohol. I had written that article because I remembered how worried I was when I'm preparing to go to camp. I was worried because one of my main objectives was to meet new people and make friends, and I knew it was going to be a difficult task to do, especially seeing how alcohol wasn't allowed there.

But to my surprise, even though I hadn't made as many friends as I would have wanted, I had tried my best. As a matter of fact, I had actually made a friend even before I got to the camp. I had met this guy on my way to the camp, and after we had both established that we both were headed to the same place, we just knew that we had to stick together because we both were doing this for the first time, and although we wouldn't admit it, that first time dear was obviously there.

But then sadly after we were both done with registration, we had ended up in different platoon, him being in platoon 4 and me in platoon 5, so that meant that we now had to make new friends that were both in our platoons. And I did, I met a young man who for the purpose of this blog, I would call Fred.

And then Fred had introduced me to another friend of his that he had also met in camp, and these two guys ended becoming my best buddies there. But it didn't just end there, I knew I needed to meet more people, to connect. So I started engaging in activities like helping out in the kitchen, and doing that alone had a lot of impact because it made me more known in the platoon.

And giving how fun I can be whenever I'm relaxed and comfortable, I found myself making more friends than I thought I would. But those were mainly with people from my platoon, which was cool, only that I was trying to spread my friendship wings far and wild, and that meant meeting other people in other platoons too.

So I started participating in our sport activities by being my platoons number the biggest fan of course. We wore white top and shorts every day, the last thing I wanted was running around in them playing table tennis or football, but one thing that wouldn't involve my clothes getting dirty was standing by the sidelines and cheering them up.

That too worked like magic because I saw myself having playful beef with the people from other platoons who were contesting again. Trust me when I say that a fun moment was had and if I had to do it again, I probably would have done better. But no, I really don't want to do it again.

Making few friends is enough I guess but didn't find the connection of alcohol with making friends.
