Friends

Earlier this morning, I had seen a video on the internet of two guys who had been apprehended by a law enforcement agency for the murder of a friend of theirs. Apparently, they had invited this friend over and had proceeded to kidnap him because his parents are rich and then requested a ransom before eventually ending his life.

They eventually got arrested, and for some reason, I just couldn't shake the fact that something like that could literally happen to anyone, especially to those of us who live in a country like this where crimes go unsolved on a regular basis.

In my previous post, I had talked about how I went on a journey, but what I didn't tell you guys was the fact that I had gone for what was supposed to be a business deal that ended up not working out.

But the scary part was the location I had to go to. I had to travel deep down into a village where there was almost no civilization. That place was so bad that the moment I got to my destination, my phone lost all cell service. I wasn't able to call anyone or receive calls.

At the time I didn't think too much about it, but after seeing the news about the guy that was kidnapped and killed, I realized that something bad could have happened to me if the people I had gone to meet had bad intentions.

Although I had taken some security measures by forwarding the direction to the place, along with the name of the person I was going to meet, to my family. I feel like in today's world, we have to do these things in order to try to ensure that even if something does happen to us, the perpetrators won't go scot-free.

Unfortunately, we don't always think of these things when visiting a friend who doesn't stay far away, like the guy in the news did.

In this present world nobody can be trusted fully and at least don't trust fully anyone. I always try to stay alert and not to let my guard down. Even if I go to meet with my best friend suddenly, I share live location with my family. I feel that by staying alert I am not losing anything.
