Many times I’ve wondered what I will do if I ever find myself in a situation where I’m being robbed with a gun pointed at me. And the truth is a thousand ways of how to escape do come to mind but you and I know I won’t be doing anything because those things only works in the movie and that is what influences our thoughts.
Some few years back, while I was still waiting to gain admission into the university, my eldest brother called home and told us that he has just being robbed. The robbers took the whole money he had on him along with that of another passenger.
He had gone to the bank to go withdraw the money my dad sent for him for his school fees and after he was done, he got into this tricycle (commonly known as Keke Napep). He said that there was a lady and another guy already seated before he got in.
His journey back home began but before he knew what was happening, the driver along with the other guy in the tricycle brought out their guns and pointed it towards my brother and the lady. They threatened to shoot them if they made a sound. I know this is the part where we think that we can actually do something, either grab one of their guns and shoot the other person (like they do in the movies) or just run.
But the reality is, your body tend to paralyze when a gun is being pointed at you unexpected. Because everything is happening so fast, you become so confused and properly just look like a fool. My bro gave them all he had and so did the other lady before they were asked to leave the tricycle and then they zoomed off.
So here you have it. I’m sure many of us might be like “Hell no, if it was me, I would fight” but the truth is if you got killed while fighting back, what everyone would say is “If only he had known, he should have just given them what they wanted and left” because they know that nothings is worth dying for, especially not something like that.
But the reality is, your body tend to paralyze when a gun is being pointed at you unexpected.
I got this gist😀😀😀, you know something you never prepared for, they took you unaware!
I have never been in a gun point with robbers and I don't wish to atall, Even watching it on movie I feel so much scared talk more of real Life... well, your brother did the right thing and that's the best decision for anyone in that situation, life first, another money will still come as far as we are alive!
I hope you don't fine yourself in such situations
.. It's a terrible thing and I'm speaking from experience.
Actually something like this have happened to me before. It was during the boko haram period. Our home was by soldiers because someone tipped them off saying there were terrorists within our vicinity.
Wow.. It must have been terrifying. Hope no one was hurt?
I remember when one of my friend said his experience of been Rob and I was like saying if I was the one I would have drag with them not until it happened to me and I was looking like a doll
😂😂😂 We always say we will do better until we find ourselves in that same situation and do nothing.
In my life I cant say that with people again
Exactly my point.
