It No Longer Works

Today's contest topic is one I would have loved to participate in. Unfortunately (or fortunately), I haven't really been in a situation where I found myself suddenly immune to certain drugs due to how often I've used them, and I believe this is mainly because I rarely take any drugs.

I hate the taste of medicine so much that most times when I fall ill, I wait to see if the sickness will pass on its own and would only go get drugs when it's starting to feel like the sickness is after my life, so it's that bad.

But I do know someone who has complained about something like this before, and I remember being very concerned for them. You see, I have this friend who, every time she's at work, always suffers from a headache. She complains all the time to me because, due to the fact that she has to work, she has no choice but to look for ways to manage the headache in order to enable her work.

And of course, her way of managing it is taking a painkiller medicine known as Panadol. But according to her, she's currently at the stage where she no longer feels the effect of Panadol on her any more. She told me that there have been days when she had to take more than she should, hoping that would make it work faster, and yet the headaches never go away.

She eventually had to switch to a different painkiller, which she said now works for her, but my fear is that it just might not be long before that one starts acting up too. And the scariest part of this whole thing is the side effect these drugs could have on our internal organs.

And yet, not a lot of people seem to care about these things. They just move over to the next drug the moment the previous one stops working.

Sort:

If she has extra money, I recommend that she go to the clinic or hospital. By doing so, she can get the right medication. Anyway, I hope she can overcome it.

I also heard the similar thing from many people. I don't hate to take medicine but in rare cases I take it as I rarely become sick.
