Patronizing One Store

The idea of having one particular store where you buy all of your stuff is a good one, as it helps create this bond between customer and seller in a way where you guys build trust amongst yourselves that could help you guys. As a customer, you could find yourself in a tight spot where you're low on cash, but due to that bond, you could easily be given things on credit by the store owner.

But there's a downside to patronizing one store, and this downside has always been why my dad has always discouraged us from only going to one store for as long as I can remember.

Patronizing just one store isn't a problem if you know for a fact that the seller is an honest person, one who wouldn't want to take advantage of you by increasing prices of products simply because they know you don't know what the prices are in other stores and might never find out.

Some days ago, there was this drink I had gotten from a store down the street. It was my first time buying it, and I loved the taste so much, but unfortunately it wasn't a drink that I could just get anywhere, and the shop down the street has been closed for a while now.

So today, with the cravings for said drink being on another level, I had decided to go in search of it at other places, only for me to get to this other store and realize that the real price of the drink is half the price the first store had sold it for me.

That's right, the first store had doubled the price of the drink, and I was furious, not because the prices were different but because of how much difference there was. Of course there was nothing I could do, but it reminded me about the warnings I've had in the past. And now, I don't think I'd be willing to patronize just one store ever again.

I will make it my business to occasionally go to different stores to buy stuff, just to make sure I'm not being scammed.
