What Says Thou, December?

What a fast year! I could still remember how we wrote something like this last December in the Hive Learners community, and so far, we are towards the end of the year 2025 - just 19 days and a few hours left, and we enter into a new year.

I am always happy looking forward to another birthday because it always reminds me that I am growing old day by day and most importantly, in the Lord. It looks as if I won’t be travelling home this festive season. It will definitely be the first time ever not to go home, and that’s something I have made up my mind about.

I actually do not feel like travelling this time, but to spend Christmas here. I have already informed my siblings ahead of time and even hinted to my Dad about it. That man almost got me when he felt emotional, but I told him it wasn’t for any reason, but I just did not want to come. Besides, I have the Lord’s work to do. So, this year wouldn’t change anything if I don’t go home.

This December, and the festive season, I have made up my mind on how to enjoy myself and not go overboard in spending because life continues after everything has ended.

I remember how January used to be a long one for most people because they kept counting to the end of the month for salary just because they weren’t wise enough to spend beyond their limit and so, squandered everything all in the name of enjoying the season without having another thought of how the next journey would be.

Just a few days ago, I stocked my kitchen with food that should last me for two months or more, and that includes my Christmas celebration. I might just get a live chicken before that day or simply go for frozen chicken to save me the stress.

Besides, I am the only one, and who knows, I might decide to host a few people, but seriously, if you know me, I’m not that kind of person to do this except we team up to make it more fun. Anyways, I would see how things unfold and I trust God for His own plan.

On that day, I planned to do video calls with those at home so we could talk and pray with each other. Celebrating Christmas in church wouldn’t be left out. In fact, we have two celebrations happening in my church; one next Sunday and the other on the 18th and then I have been hearing that members would celebrate Christmas at their place and I might even visit my Reverend then. I must eat chicken and fried rice on that day. Hahaha 😂

I know this Christmas would be different because of not going home but it wouldn’t change the fact that they are my family and we all would enjoy whatever we do then. The important thing is that we are connected. The Joy of Christmas is also to be aware of God’s presence with us. The gift of His presence is all that matters because even when everyone is gone, His presence is still there always.

I wish that everyone were in good health and all goes well for us in this season. Happy Christmas in advance Y’all 🎄

Keeping faith on God is good but we need to be cautious also at the same time. God never said to do anything foolish and god gave us brain to use it. In your case it seems you are well prepared for the festival.
