In a count like mine, where we still have a ton of work to do as regarding basic amenities, norms and expected events that should be a day in day out thing but yet to be done or put into effect. A place where access to Internet, water, education, stable average finance, security is still a very serious problem with no future and reasonable solutions; in a country where a larger percent of the citizen still believe a messaih president will come to save us all from these things I've listed above, they put their faith in a leader, expecting a magician leader, one who would do their work and play their part for them towards a better country......being a vigilante is not an option, I'd do it myself.

Just in case you're wondering why I would do this, it's simply because at this point it is foolishness to believe that one man will come to save us, right every wrong in the nation. The country no longer need one man and his long lists of ministers, executives, etc to make the nation a better one. We need everyone, we need each other, it has grown beyond one man's job, excalated beyond just an ethicnic group problem, it has spread too wide to be corrected by few men;all hands needs to be on desks.
I'd be a vigilante with the sole aim of making this country exactly what a good and prospering country should be. I will be needing as many hands as possible to fight every problem, corruptions and every form of it is not the major issue in my country (honestly). One of the major issues affecting every other thing is the mindset of the people, the citizen of the country. The same ideology about governments and leadership has been passed down, and that's why we see the same effect on ourselves with every new elected leader irrespective of the level of power. Of course, we will need good and formidable leaderships but a lot rests on the part the citizens has to play.
When we conquer corruption and misuse of power in the higher level, what about the millions of citizens with all sorts and manner of corruption happening amongst them, what about the misuse of little power gained by citizens, what about wrong ideology formed, passed downed or embraced due to bad leadership. How about eradicating the poor man's mindset and begin to nurture a better mind in there. What about the very low level of exposure over 75% of the citizen has in terms of education, technology, sociology, environments, ethicnic groups
Using the blessings, money, impact I have has always been a big drive to fight and eradicate the issues we have in my country. One would need tons of resources to fight as a Vigilante, even starting from my immediate environment will take a lot of work and convictions. Imagine wanting to change a prevailing mindset that sees it normal to always take money and resources meant for thousands and millions of people to become personal belongings; the idea is that those before them has been doing it and even those that will be after them will do same, so they don't want to miss out from the new anomaly.
Making available basic amenities as much as possible is very important because they are the basic necessary needs of humans, a sane but naked man won't worry about food but clothes, and hungry man won't bother about a house but how to get next meal, same way a married man won't bother about a car first but will want a roof over his head. The basic needs precedes the secondary needs of man especially the citizens of my country. So, yes, being a Vigilante is something I have always wanted to do and will definitely do so someday soon.
You've said it all sir. Presently, we are at a point where we have to secure our lives and properties ourselves, because nobody really is coming to save us, and nowheres even safe.
