Hello everyone!!! I hope you are well. Perhaps we all know that one of the major occasions of the Muslim community is on the way. Today I would like to write about Eid. This will be helpful for the people who have not been used to it.

Eid means happiness. It is a festival celebrated by Muslims all over the world. There are two Eid in every year. Eid al-Fitr is one of two major festivals celebrated by Muslims and commemorates the end of the holy month of Ramadan. Ramadan is the month of revealing the Al-Quran which holds great importance for every Muslim. For every Muslim, Ramadan is a significant and transformative experience. This month is observed by Muslims all over the world as a month of fasting, prayer, reflection, and community. In this period, Muslims fast daily from before sunrise to sunset. Eid al-Fitr is celebrated by Muslims worldwide because it marks the end of the month of Ramadan. After the month of Ramadan, Eid comes to us as a gift from the Almighty.

Eid al-Fitr falls on the first day of the month Shawwal. Shawwal is the tenth month of the lunar-based Islamic calendar. The day depends on the visibility of the moon. Eid al-Fitr begins at sunset on the night of the first sighting of the crescent moon. The night on which the moon is sighted is celebrated as Chand Raat. The main part of the Eid starts from the Chand Raat. After the sunset, everyone waits to see the moon. The girls start taking preparation by giving mehendi on their hands and the boys enjoy the night by gathering with friends. Also, people complete their last time shopping for Eid. On the morning of Eid day, everyone wakes up early. The male members of the family take a bath and sweets then they go to Eidgah to perform the Eid prayer. Also, people compete to donate their zakat and fitra before Eid salah which hasn’t been completed yet. Then they embrace with each other.

The best part of Eid is Eidi or Salami. It’s a tradition where the elders give some money as a gift to the juniors. Then everyone meets with each other and goes to everyone's home to visit. People choose to give tours and visit different types of places. As we get a long time of vacation for the occasion of Eid, everyone goes to their respective hometown to celebrate Eid and enjoy the moment with their nearest one together. People always wait for this time of the whole year.

Another amazing thing about Eid is in many villages they arrange an exhibition which is called “Mela” locally. Here, different types of things like toys, traditional foods, magic shows, and also different rides come to the “Mela”. People of all ages visit the Mela with great interest, especially the children they enjoy it a lot. There have also been competitions, and races that take the occasion to another level. They just forget all the pains and problems of their life for some moments, which is the greatest thing about Eid. Winners also get amazing awards.

In the city, people especially teenagers like to hang out in restaurants and some famous places. The way to enjoy Eid is different for the urban and rural people.
TV shows are also an interesting thing on Eid. After enjoying all day outside everyone, especially girls, loves to watch TV shows. For Eid, the TV channel arranged 7 days of Eid special drama, games, and many more.

Another thing is social media. Everyone enjoys the whole day with their nearest by creating good moments and they also capture the moment with the camera. And the end of the day they love to share their day on social media by uploading photos, new profile pictures, and cover photos.

These enjoyable moments do not end in one day it takes three days. Everyone gets three day’s vacation at least to celebrate Eid and they try to make the best use of it for some refreshment from their work.

There is responsibility for Eid because although Eid means happiness there are some people who are helpless, foodless, shelterless, and surrounded by so many problems. Eid fails to bring happiness in their life. So, we should be always with them with a supporting heart and financial support so that we can share and reduce their sorrows as much as possible. This will ease their problems and will make them also happy. As everyone has the right to smile so let’s smile together.

Overall Eid is centered around celebrating the end of a month of fasting and spending and enjoying time with family, friends, and people within the community. Eid means spreading love and happiness. It’s not only a religious occasion but also a tradition in many countries.
Let’s celebrate and enjoy this Eid together!!!
Eid Mubarak!
