Hive has been am amazing place for me. Since I have been on hive, I have improved my writing skills, I have definitely become better at it and topics now come easily to me. I have felt the most genuine support and encouragement from hivers and I love that I have made new friends, friends I haven’t met in person but the bond is amazing.
Hive has helped me work on my ability to be consistent and that’s one thing I am grateful for.
First what is plagiarism?
Plagiarism is the practice of taking someone else’s work and passing them off as yours. It can be writing or visual work. It can even be audio. In lame mans explaination ; When you copy and paste a work and pass it off as yours that is plagiarism. It is unethical, illegal and generally just very unfair to the original author of the work. Ever since I became a writer courtesy hive, plagiarism has made more meaning to me more than ever, I can’t imagine seeing my hard work, long hours of brainstorming, typing and consistency being posted by someone else as his or her own work. It would definitely hurt me and I would be really mad.
When ever we write an article it is best and safer that we proof read our work and check It for plagiarism. I personally make use of plagiarism checker for my work and that has helped me a lot on hive. In a case where you really need to take a sentence or phrase off someone’s work or make use of a picture or video that is not originally yours please do well to sight your sources along with what ever you intend to borrow from the persons work. The price to pay for plagiarizing is far greater than avoiding it, downvoting and subsequently getting blacklisted would be meltdown on an offender.
As the name implies begging for votes on your published article wether directly or indirectly. Most times the people who beg for vote tend to tag a lot of persons to their post in order to gain their attention and votes. Well I understand how painful it can be to publish an article and not get your desired traction but with great content, quality posts, engagment with other hivers to gain publicity and make good friends for yourself, gradually your articles will do better and votes will come to you naturally base off your hard work.
It would be rather boring to see one post multiple times on different communities.
Post recycling is the practice of rebranding a post or making few adjustments to an already published post to make it look different just so it can be posted again.
The truth is any post made my an author can always be detected if it is recycled. And it lowers your personal reputation as a writer. There are interesting new topics to write on and one can get topics from everywhere around, our lives on a daily basis is enough content. People who recycle post do not want to put in the work so they take the easy route out, unknown to them that is only makes their blog a boring place to visit.
This post has helped me appreciate the beauty in knowing how to navigate and make use of various markdowns. Markdown sure makes your work look beautiful and inviting to read. Before this post I only knew of a few markdowns but thanks to this post I have been experimenting a lot of markdowns and hence forth you would see the result of what I have learnt in my blog posts. Thanks to @mistural for her elaborate work and explanation of markdowns.
Thank you @starstrings @aliento @projectmamabg and everyone else involved in the #newbies-hive. You all are doing a great work helping newbies navigate and learn the ropes of hive. I am grateful to be a beneficiary of this great work. It is one thing I do not take for granted.
It's great to see that your journey in hive has been really smooth, pays off to have people that really want to help you in every way.
Nothing good comes from stealing, talk more of stealing someone else's work..e no nice at all..and it deserves to be punished.
Vote begging is something we see a lot..a lot of people have different means of begging for votes and it's really not helpful at all, if you're really good at what you're doing you'll get voted..

This is a good, clear explanation of some important points. Since you mentioned that Hive improved your writing, I feel like I should point out the error (which might just be a typo): "lame man's terms." This is one of the types of errors that cannot be detected by grammarly or the Hemingway app. It should be "layman's terms." Maybe, as I said, you already know and it was just a typo. However, "lame man's terms" is correct. It just means something completely different (i.e. it means in terms of a man who is lame, figuratively or metaphorically).
Well, maybe you didn't really want this type of feedback. It was a well written article. I just thought in case you were not aware, I wanted to tell you.
My daughter sometimes writes things to me like telling me something is a "mute" point. No. It is a moot point. She gets very angry when I point out such things, so, often, I just keep my mouth shut. Sometimes, that is best.
It's funny how certain errors cannot be caught by machines. For example, I read a published scientific paper once that said a theory was worth "nothing" and went on to praise it extensively. It was worth... noting, not "nothing." Similarly, the words assess and asses can be confused to comic result.
Why do I get so obsessed with minutia? I usually don't mention it when I see errors, which is all the time. I only mentioned it because I really thought you would want to know.
Occasionally, my fiancé reads my articles and points out errors and it aggravates me even though I love words, so maybe I should delete this stupidly long comment, but... I won't.
Maybe some !WINE and !LUV and !PIZZA will make it a bit better? !LOLZ
