Content creation is essentially one of the creative ways to make money in recent times. People who are into content creation have to be very creative and must put in hard work to succeed in the content-making industry or to monetise their efforts. If it were very easy, I know a lot of people who are dying to monetise their content but are still finding it very difficult to. Marketing a content brand is putting a lot of work, like any other business or products, you have to be very intentional about your marketing strategy before you can find your way in the industry and become popular, although most of the content creators these days after doing a good job and getting popular, they end up selling anything to stay relevant, some will go as far as selling fake news and content to remain relevant in the market.

In a country where you hardly find full employment, in comparison to a country where the citizens choose what work they will do. In developed nations, if one goes out to look for a job, they can easily find a position that will at least meet their basic needs. One will see that content creation is not just an option to make money; it is a survival mode for most content creators.
Content creators are paid for their efforts; they get value for the value they bring to brands; they create revenue for companies and firms through promotions and advertisements, and they get paid in return for the value they have created, by engaging people on social media and other platforms, they can market products for companies which come back as sales and revenue for companies.
Whether they produce extreme content or not should be a reason to contend if they are worth or deserving of a pay day; what matters is the value they bring in return to those receiving the value, and if they are willing to exchange value for value.
To call content creation lazy and not actual work to me is a wrong notion in its entirety; though content creation may seem very easy and stress-free, it actually requires a lot of effort, and as such, should not be tagged as a lazy man’s job. It's like saying script writing is a joke and should not have any value attached to it. I strongly believe that content creation is real and hard work, and not some lazy way people who wouldn’t do actual work choose to go. Every trade has its challenges and difficulties, and hence the extreme measures and content some people choose to take, but to determine if they are worthy of payment strongly depends and lays in the hands of those who are willing to pay for them. Just because we earn our living differently doesn’t give us the right to criticise how the next person earns a living, so as long as it is legal, one is free to make a living whichever way they deem fit.
Thank you for reading. My name is@rishagamo, and this is my response to the Hive Learners weekly Featured Content Week 193 Episode 03: “MONETIZATION”.
From your title alone I have to agree with everything you just said. Content creating was not made to make people lazy but that's the direction society is heading. People don't even see the need to get a real job anymore if all they need is a camera and an idea to make money.. I just hope this doesn't cause irreversible damage in the not so distant future
You have said it all.
Content creation is an escape from the harsh reality lack of employment presents but it slowly evolved to a career job. Looking at how much effort is applied when making content, only a less experienced person in the field of content creation would consider it a lazy man's job.
