Happiness is a state of mind of intense joy and satisfaction. To be happy means to be delightful; these feelings can be gotten through various activities, these activities may include; connecting with friends and loved ones, exercise, or even doing something one really loves. A person's happiness is mostly tied to their mind and how they feel about something or react to a situation. It is what a person does or thinks about that affects a person's happiness, being happy or unhappy.
A good friend sticks closer than a brother, a friend listens to you when you have a lot on your mind you want to pour out, a friend pulls you up when you are down, and a friend is a shoulder to lean on. I can't talk about my time in secondary school without mentioning numerous occasions how which my friends made my stay lively and bearable, or my tertiary school days, how my friends were my pillars of survival in the course of the years spent in school. And even after school, they made me strong and are always supportive of me whenever I am in need of support. I know a good friend because I am one, and have a lot of good friends too.
During my days at the university, our exams were always held at the permanent site of my school, which was about a 45-minute drive without traffic. A school bus is usually scheduled to pick up students from the mini campus to the main campus each day for their exams. You will have to wake up very early and queue up in line to get on the bus. This was very exhausting and time-consuming. One might even go late for their exams or miss their exams if the bus scheduled for the student shuttle is the only means of transportation they rely on to get to the permanent site. Fortunately for me, at this time I had a friend who came to school with his car and will always help me go for the exams through and fro, this started from my 100level days right to my graduation from the school, I never rode the school bus to get to the main campus for my exams and this gesture of kindness by my friend always made me very happy whenever it was time for exams.
We need people to be happy, we need events to be happy, and we need things to be satisfied. Our environment, our surroundings, our connections, our lifestyle, our mind, these are the things that make us happy; they are the things that come together to make us feel satisfied. They influence our mood, both positively and negatively.
A person without friends may find happiness in other means; a person’s happiness is not necessarily dependent on friends. This is to say that a person does not need friends to be happy. Yes, friends can make one happy when one is sad, but that doesn’t mean that without friends, a person cannot find happiness.
