Humans are generally funny creatures, not wanting to be blamed for anything and always wanting others to take the blame, even for our actions; we blame the next person for our lack of competence, our insecurities, and generally for what happens to us. We blame our parents for things they did or did not do for us in the past, which we feel is affecting our present lives. We blame the environment we grew up in and the people we grew up with for a certain way we come out, knowing fully well that how we come out is a decision of our biology. Every human knows entirely well what they are doing; they are fully aware of their actions and inactions, and as such, I will not subscribe to blaming people for their innovations of things meant to better the livelihood of humans, in an absolutely innocent way, while others, in their own creative thinking, put it to use differently and in a terribly and harmful ways to humans.
An example of such a creation was the creation of insecticides, for instance, which was created to be used to kill and drive out insects in one's home or farm land; these insecticides have been used several times by people as poison and a suicide tool. This cannot be tagged as a bad creation. And as such, the innovators of this insecticide should not be blamed for what others have deemed it fit for or are using it to do.
Another example will be the innovation of the social media platform, which was designed for social interactions and connections, such innovation has become a gate way for internet fraud known as the “Yahoo Yahoo” making it easier for this fraudster to find their clients or victims, one who has being scammed through this platform even though the creator of the platform had nothing to do with it, may hate the platform and the invention or even blame the innovator or creator of the platform to which he or she has being scammed through. Humans are very creative and they always have their ways around everything, with every creation or innovation, others seek to improve such innovations, or find a back way around it, to be put to a bad or harmful use, the creation of the digital currency (cryptocurrency) has also not been left behind, this digital currency has been used as a means of money laundering and other international financial crimes.
A person's decision to be unwise has nothing to do with the innovator of medicines. Medicines created to make us healthy are being abused by individuals despite knowing the harm these drugs could cause in the long run and the dangers of addiction. It would be a different game if these things were done out of ignorance, but when it is a case of a conscious decision and act, blame is not meant to be distributed. People take hard drugs just to feel good about themselves, knowing fully well the harms of these things, yet still involved in such acts. Do we rather not have this medicine that is meant to help humans survive because of the unreasonable decisions of others, and let people die of something curable?
Blaming the innovators for their innovations that are put to the wrong use is as good as blaming a parent for a lifestyle their children have chosen to live. I am safe to say that every human has been presented with so many choices, and whatever choices they wish to take should be on them, not their parents and also not the innovators who had good intentions for their creation.
