Those who speaks French are always excited when they see other people learning and understanding them. This definitely would give benefits to whoever is learning it. There is an app called Duolingo where one can learn French and it's good.

I remember when we were being taught French back in primary school. Now that I think of it, I'm pretty sure our teacher then didn't know much about the language either. Except a string of words.
