Greetings!
In this life, everyone knows that the only way to cure disaster or illness is to prevent it and that's why the saying, “ prevention is better than cure.” is very essential.
Having said this, I would like to delve into a topic that says, “prevention is better,” in the Hivelearners community on the Hive blockchain.
Well, in my own understanding of the topic, I would say that people's right on prevention, most especially the nursing mother should not be infringed on and this is because of the fact that, as an adult, I believe we all know what's right for us to do.
So, infringing and imposing how our babies should be cared for in order to prevent diseases or illnesses to me is not the way out.
However, instead of infringing on how people should prevent sickness or diseases from happening to their kids or to themselves, I think these people, mostly adults, should be sensitized and encouraged on what should be done to prevent themselves or their kids from preventable diseases.
Doing this to me will go a long way in curbing and preventing diseases in our society. As people would only be willing to make sure their kids or babies are well taken care of than be forced or compelled to do the needful.
One thing I have seen in people is that they are always happy doing the right thing on their own, but whenever they are being forced to do things by the authorities or maybe someone who is superior to them, they take offense, even if that said thing is the right thing.
So, if this should be the case, why not we sensitize and encourage them to do the needful if truly we want them to do the right thing which will help them prevent the preventable disease as prevention is better than cure.
So, for us to prevent the preventable disease through the parents, we must first of all prevent forcing on their throat how to prevent the preventable illnesses, rather, we must make sure we love, sensitize and encourage them to do what is right.
However, if after our sensitization they refused to do what we have sensitized them about, then we should try and do follow up as this would help us achieve the essence of our goals in making them prevent what is preventable so as not to affect others in the society.
So, the bottom line is that, things would be greatly achieved when people are willing to do things on their own cheerfully without being forced to do it.
However, when people are being forced to do things, then the needed result would not be achieved. So, in my own understanding, it's better to encourage and sensitize people on the preventable measure to be taken than to force them to do it.

I agree with you, people should be allowed to do decide things that partains their health and that of their children. Whether it is good or bad, nothing should be forced on anyone
That would be the ideal path in an ideal world, to reach that level the the education should be better and worldwide extended.
