Greetings!
The advent of technology has really improved human exposure to a series of things. Back then in the dark ages, things were not as digital as we have it now.
Then, people used to send information through birds and other means which would in a way take time to be delivered, but, that was then as technology has brought us together and made the world a small community where we can interact and do things without stress and at the comfort of our homes.
Having said a lot about the advent of technology and how it has metamorphosed from one form of technological development to another, I would like to delve into the topic of the prompt which is about “deepfake.”
Nowadays with the advent of technology and the drastic changes that has occurred in the world of technology, things that were not or that one would not have imagined to have been existence are now the one in existence and one of those things is deepfake where people can use the image of a certain persons to do what the person is not aware of.
These days, we've seen pictures of someone and his voice being manipulated as if it's the person himself or herself speaking, but in the real sense of it, it's not the person in question. It's through the use of technology that this is made possible as people now use AI and the likes to do this, thereby making it so real that it is the person that's speaking, jumping or flying.
But as good as the deepfake is and of good advantage, there are other sides of it that are not good. I have seen people using it to their advantage by using it in advertising their product on social media which is a plus to the marketing world as it would surely bring the required result to the business owner.
However, aside from this, the way people are using it to scam people is of great concern to the entire human race.
People's voices have been manipulated and cloned to deceive their relatives. Like I read in one of the people's write up in this community, someone said, she almost got defrauded by a smammer using her brother's voice, she said if not that she has be noticed before hand, she would have been scammed.
Looking at the event above, one would realize that this is bad and as good as deepfake ought to be, the reverse is the case.
Aside from this, people using other images and voices to perpetrate evil are the other set of people that have made the deepfake of more of a disadvantage to an advantage. Thank God for the AI detector that has helped in this regard, had it been something of such is not in existence, some people would have been sanction or banished from their field or the social media platform.
In conclusion, the deepfake is a good technological development if not for those that have hijacked it to perpetrate their evil motives.

These days, once I see a video, I will just focus on the persons mouth to try and discover if it is fake or not. The incidence of fake videos is too high nowadays and deepfake is the reason.

A lot of things are happening today via the use of deep fake, and they would look so real, some are images, some videos, some voice cloning and all.
Still, there are advantages to it. The way and what we use it for is what matters.
