Greetings!
Relationships are one thing that build society and without it, there would be no society. It's from the relationships among the members of the society that help us to embrace, love and relate with each other. Without an existing relationship among the people living in the society then there would be no human existence as well.
Having said so much about relationships that exist in the society and its influence on the human living in the society, I would like to delve into the topic of the prompt which is all about, “Online friends.”
Before I proceed, I would like to let us know that the advent of technology has brought about a radical change to the existing system that we have in our society. Gone are the days when there existed a meaningful relationship among the members of the society. Back then, what we had was a physical relationship where people related with each other and offered help to themselves whenever they were in trouble or in need of help.
The kind of communal living that existed then cannot be overemphasized as there was unity and love in every corner of our society. Not only this, even families are seriously bonded together in love and unity.
However, that was then, but now, things have changed as the advent of technology has brought about a great change to the existing system we once enjoyed. What we now have is a kind of a melancholic life where people now live in isolation even within their society all in the name of having online friends.
The kind of relationship that people now prefer is that of an online relationship where they make virtual relationships with those that are not present around them, they neglect those that are around them for those that are online, they choose those that they have known people over strangers.
Although, to me, there's nothing bad in making friends online as it's really helped so many people in connecting them to the outside world and even to their life partners and helpers which to me are the major advantages this online friendship has brought to us human race.
However, as much as online friendships may look good, one thing I want us to know for sure is that it has really affected so many cordial relationships that we have once enjoyed in our lives. I have seen people quitting their physical relationship just because they are now engaged in an online relationship.
Aside from this, people are now being defrauded and deceived just because of the online relationship they put themselves into. To me, there's this serious negative effect of the online relationship in our society as it has also brought about disunity and loneliness to the human race.
So, one thing I would say about the online relationship is that it's a good one with so many disadvantages which I believe would make it fall someday, but anytime anyway, I will choose the physical relationship over the online relationship.

When I look at my own situation, I realize I have become quite confined.
I spend almost the entire day just lying in my room. I often think that if it weren't for my mobile phone, I would likely be sitting outside most of the time, interacting with people. Mobile phones have certainly destroyed the true sense of community.
