When it comes to currency, Philippine Peso does not belong to those that have the highest value but when it comes to the design, it was an explosion of colors, featuring natural wonders, native wildlife, historical figures and historical events that was vital in the foundation of our country. Take our Sanlibong Piso (One Thousand Peso- around 18 USD in value)for example. The front depicts 3 famously heroic figures who died resisting the Japanese occupation during World War 2 who also appears on the watermark and in the box on the top left of the bill. To the bottom left are crowd of people that celebrates the Centennial of Philippine independence in 1998. A South Sea Pearl (Pinctada Maxima) was featured on the back of the bill with the Tubbataha Reef's national park and the country's map in the background. The same goes to our other bills, all packed not only with the country's significant events but also showcase the very best of its natural wonders and indigenous wildlife that faithfully honor the Philippines so if I should say, they are among the ranks as one of the most beautiful, interesting and colorful currencies on the planet.

I could not agree more to the people that are in our country's currency. After all, they are heroes that have played a very significant role in shaping our country's future and freedom. But if I can think of another personality that can add to the face of one of our currency, the first person that comes into mind was the man in the name of Manny Pacquiao.

Who would not know of Manny Pacquiao or Packman that has made his name in the world of professional boxing and was the only eight- division world champion in the history of boxing, winning 12 major world titles. He has become one of the highest-payed athletes in the world before his retirement in 2021 and achieved great amounts of wealth but before his success, he was but a child fighting to survive. He comes from a poor family and did not finish high school because he need to work in order to eat and provide for his family and along those works includes boxing, facing different opponents as early as 12 and by the age of 16, he started his career as a professional boxer.
Through his boxing career, he also find some time in order to finish his study to finally be able to entered college by 2008 and finished a degree in Political Science. Later on, he run and won a seat in the congress which he held for 6 years until he was elected as a senator in 2016. He also tried to run as President on the last election but he ended up losing. Aside from this, he has established his career as a businessman, as an actor and as a musician all the while working his time as a boxer, a feet that you would not expect from someone that comes with a poor upbringing. Still, he did not forget upon his roots and share some of his money to help people and donate on charities.
Basically, what I'm saying is that not only Manny Pacquiao has made achievements that makes the country proud, his life story from poverty to success can be an inspiration to many Filipino who have been struggling with their lives and that hard work and perseverance can be rewarded as long as one did not give up on life. That was why I think Manny Pacquiao deserves to be put in the Philippine currency and be a continued source of inspiration for the people in order to achieved their dreams.
At the same time, as he was known worldwide for his achievements, having his face in the Peso note will not embarrass the Philippines even when the world saw it.

Obviously Packman is the pride of Philippines. He truly deserves respect as he made the name of his country in the field of athletic games. Winning such number of prizes for the country is truly a pride. There is no doubt that he worked hard to achieve this position.

Yeah. He does come from poor upbringing which makes him and his story a good inspiration to people and would be nice if his legacy could transcend through our currency and contributions to the country by being an athlete.

I am happy to these people on the notes that fought for your country, they are the true heroes, it's a way to appreciate them for their bravery and their hard work they did for our country, you are doing well by appreciating them. i wasn't aware about this boxer but they way you described his achievement, his name should be on the notes.
Right! and the bills do not only serve as an item used to trade but also a reminder of the history and culture that we have as a country. You might have missed Packman because he has been retired since 2021 but he was certainly rank among the best boxers in the world.
Just imagine an orphan boy striving hard for his livelihood sitting on the side of road with faded face and low courage. Suddenly he takes out the last note from his pocket and stares it and find Manny packioui on it. He will immediately think that this was the boy who had same condition as i am having now . This may spur him from his slumber and he will entice himself to emulate him.
It’s actually good idea to publicise those figures who have impetuous stories in themselves
yeah, any person that is on the brink of despair could have lit their will if they were able to look at that bill and see that the image painted of it was once a person that was very similar to them but was able to find his success because he did not give up.
