You know, sometimes, we think that we can never be bored. This was me few years ago when I heard people saying they were bored because I had many things to do, so many that the 24-hours seems like a small time compared to the things I wanted, it was never enough, lol.
Not until 3weeks ago, I never believed I can be bored but yes, truly, I will acknowledge the fact that I've been bored recently, lol
Doctors embarked on a total and comprehensive strike action as it seems like the only way to make our government listen to the plights of their followers.
This strike entailed that all the patients who were on admission before the strike were discharged and no new patient will be admitted. The most we did was to see patients based on outpatient basis and then send them home or rather refer them to other private facilities. This went on for a week before JOHESU embarked on their one strike.
This totally crippled the little skeleton work we were doing as we couldn't do anything again. This is because the JOHESU involved every other parastatal working in the hospital asides the nurses ( this includes the pharmacists, radiographers, physiotherapist, lab scientists, records department, administrative departments, health attendants, cleaners, blood banks, powerhouses, pay points and cashiers). With this latest development, it made us sight viewers in the hospital.
Here's the deal, as House officers, we are always the first on call and this means that we are always the first to attend to patients whenever they present to the hospital. For someone who plays this role in the hospital, there should always be a sort of accomodation for the person to stay inside the hospital as it's the only logical way to effectively carry out his or her job, that's to say that I live right inside the hospital.
It's not always lively in the positive way as sometimes you just step out to take a calm walk and the next thing you see are families crying for the death of their loved ones and other sad experiences but then, atleast there are always humans walking around from one end to the other which adds life to the environment.

Image is Mine
Now, there is absolutely nothing, just me and the trees. I wake up everyday to stare at the hospital buildings and they stare at me, walk around the hospital wards and emergency wards just to see how neatly the beds are dressed with no one lying on them and wave at them while they wave at me too
Atimes, I pause for a while having flashbacks of the experiences I've had in some of those wards and saying little prayers when I come across the beds I've lost patients on (Somehow, I still always remember the beds I've lost each and every of my patients).
But on contrary, I still think the reason I'm bored is because I am in the South West part of my country where I have no friends around, it would have been a different story if I stayed back in the town where I went to school. This is because I have many friends of mine I would have caught up with during this period and so many places we would have visited, I will have so many things to discuss with my friends that I would never think of being bored.
In summary, anyone can be bored especially when you are in a place you have little or no friends and sometimes, phones will not always be the proper replacement for physical friends.
Boredoms aren't that bad either as if when utilised properly could be a chance to grow, laugh and reflect.
Thanks for reading and have a nice day ahead 👍
