Dear my friends

today I will share some of the cacao portraits that I have capture through the lens of my camera to all of my friends, I hope all of my friends can enjoy all the photos and understand every word I write about cacao.

right in 1998 when geopolitics in Indonesia was unstable, many agricultural sectors in Indonesia, especially in the aceh region were also affected, namely the selling price of agricultural goods which continued to decline, initially the farmers in our environment including my father depended on coconut production, but due to politics unstable all the coconuts that our family owns do not sell in the market which makes our family and other farmers to try new things to survive.

since then the farmers and my father switched their crops, from coconut to cocoa, farmers chose to cultivate cocoa not without reason, they planted something that could be exported to other countries, as a result what the farmers did really changed the situation , 3 years after the political chaos and civil war broke out in aceh but many farmers managed to survive from cacao production, until now the selling price of cocoa beans is still relatively stable at $1.8/kg for dry cacao beans, while coconut is only around $0.18 for dry coconut, ten times lower than the selling price of cacao beans.

Our family's cacao plant is 22 years old and to this day the cacao plant is still productive, so it has really helped our family's economy, of course we are very grateful for that.

for now we only have 140 cocoa stalks and are 15 - 22 years old, and to this day we are still increasing the number of cocoa plants, we believe the selling price of cocoa beans will continue to increase because almost every country consumes chocolate, both as an ingredient in making cocoa beans. food, cosmetics and so on. if you live in an agricultural environment I think it would be great if you try to cultivate this great plant, I am sure you will get satisfactory results and can improve your standard of living.

Cacao (Theobroma cacao L.) is a cultivated tree in plantations that originated in South America, but is now grown in various tropical regions. From the seeds of this plant, a processed product known as chocolate is produced. Wikipedia
