Risking it all for what is right. 💡

Todays Jeffrey Epstein whistleblower related news were all over the internet. The recent files and videos release have many secrets and undocumented evidence that may have shocked many powerful people. Ever since such whistle blows happen, there are many chances that it has shaken the economy or put someone life at risk. Although these whistle blower may be suppressed and silenced most of time. Whistleblowing happens when an insider typically an employee, contractor, or officer reports misconduct, illegal activities, or unethical behavior within an organization to internal supervisors, regulators, or the public. It is a critical, often last resort, mechanism for accountability when internal controls fail. But it is a risky that a people put themselves into.

I remember whistle blowing few of the time during my working days but it does not take me long to realize that fight against the whole system is irrelevant. the system is rotten to the core. The more you try to raise voice against the misdeed the more you will get trapped into it.

Exposing the truth to create a better world.

In my opinion, Whistleblowing is necessary to uphold integrity, promote transparency, and ensure accountability within organizations and society by exposing wrongdoing, corruption, and safety risks. It fosters a "speak-up" culture, ensuring a person feel safe reporting misconduct, which increases transparency and trust. I stood up against my manager for his misconduct in hiring job. He was keen to hire his own known one that includes friends and relatives in the organization. He making sure to get them a higher pay packages. In his mean approach He was neglecting qualified individuals who were more suitable for the role. Just imagine, he put a non SAP experience individuals for reporting profile. This act misfired me and I informed the HR of his wrong doing. The HR asked me for the proof, as they does not want to go by words. Later, there was no outcome of the reporting and I was moved to another team, just because I whistle blows my manager wrong act. I was suppressed for my act and even does not get the annual appraisal.

This was the initial days of my corporate career, which made me to realize that it is better to be silent then raising voice in the corporate world, as the entire system is somehow involved.

The truth doesn't stay hidden forever. 👁️

Later I learned that there was some action against the manager and his team by the compliance team for such wrongdoing. But by that team, I had already left the organization. Whistleblowing is quite risky. And after my personal experience in doubt what could be a better way to provide safety to a whistle blower. In my case I was punished for raising my voice for no reason. If such thing happens to a lower level, who could trust on the senior level. Whistleblowing is a crucial tool for exposing corruption, ensuring safety, and upholding ethics, but it should not be mandatory for everyone due to significant personal risks. Make sure to have a strong support to go with your voice, else it remain unheard.

In good faith - Peace!!
