Past a certain level, it takes a lot more will power to come back from an addiction. I think sometimes we tend to delude ourselves that we have control, which is all well and true, until forces seemingly beyond our control enter the picture. By that, I mean human emotions, like greed and fear. Sometimes outside help is definitely needed to get out of the situation, and usually it isn't a quick fix or solution but a gradual process.

When addiction gets the better of us, it becomes a very complicated situation indeed. Only with the help of professionals, friends, and family can we overcome this problem. Not to mention the willpower that a person must have to overcome all of this.
