Polls. Great idea but where is the documentation?

in Hive Learners2 years ago

Today Hive Learners is asking its members to vote for their top writer of the week.

Doing my duty I headed over to the website and saw this:

Now, I like a good poll and would love to make one or two myself but the question of how comes to mind?

Search on ecency brings up this :

Nothing useful there.

How about in the leofinance.io threads?

Nope. Nothing useful there.
Maybe in tutorials?

Nope.

To be fair, an awesome user @DLMMQB helped me with other Hive issues this morning but it seems for every question I answer another one crops up!

I feel like Hive is teasing me...

I learn about one thing and another issues comes up. I'm going to keep plodding away at this as I refuse to give up. Honestly though, right now I'm feeling a whole lot of despair.

I'm feeling a whole lot of despair

I told you to relax. Nobody is going anywhere but if you keep feeling despair or sad then it's not worthy to give time. So first of all, just relax and slow down. The least I can delay answering a question is 48 hours as long as I have internet and some last breaths 😀

Thanks for being there.

I am truly sorry for being a pain in the ass.

I took a long walk and I think I've calmed down now and figured out how I'm going to proceed. Unless you think my plan is in appropriate.

But first a little background. Normally I'm a pretty plaid guy and not easily flustered. You may not believe that from my rants but its true. I'm about 6 months to a year from retirement and I'm looking at what I want to do with my 20 or so years left on this earth.

Everything I want to accomplish in the years I have left can be done on Hive. But there are so many IF's along the the way.

So, what's my plan? Start by making a long overdue New User Introduction. I could have sworn I did it before but looking through all my old posts I can't find it. I'm thinking I probably did it way back when I tried Steem years ago. Regardless, even if I did write one that was before I got to know Hive and before I actually cared about blogging and meeting others.

In my New User Introduction it will likely be multi-part because I have so much I want to accomplish on Hive. There is a 99% chance I'll never get it all done, but that's okay. As the saying goes "Shoot for the stars, if you only reach the moon, well, that's not too bad".

Then I'll start my crawl through Hive....maybe walking later...and hopefully running someday.

My actual biggest fear is not in failing or being downvoted. My fear comes from the fact that Hive isn't my home. It's the home of a lot of other great people (yourself included). I'm just a guest and I don't want to be a rude or obnoxious one and I fear my ignorance will lead me to be a bad guest.

Thanks for all the help so far.

Funny side note: a lot of the posts you got me to read were from shadowspub. As I read her posts I saw she is a member of "The Alliance". Why is that funny? Because I'm a card carrying member of "The Alliance" Splinterlands guild and many of the senior members know her as a member on Discord.

I am truly sorry for being a pain......

You were not, I just care about your health.

Hive is home to every user. It's just your perspective.

Funny side note: a lot of the posts.....

When I started learning hive, kittygirl was helpful to me. While I started documenting shadow was first documenting on chain guides for me.

You can find shadow in PYPT live show. While you can catch me in a heart-to-heart section show.
