Best Place to Spend Nigerians Money and Where to Avoid Spending

in Hive Learnerslast year
Hello, my fellow Hive Bloggers, and readers' greetings to yours, @tjoe123. I trust everything about you and your loved ones is going well. I am so excited to be among the participants of the contest that is being organized in the Hive learner Community. Indeed, I am happy to be here again after a long time of me posting on Hive. Stay safe and read through my post, where I have written based on the contest questions.
Tell us one thing in your country you believe the government should spend on, but doesn't.

I am from Nigeria, where our education system is at the mercy of God because of how badly the Nigerian government has failed to take care of educational sectors. To this end, I believe the Nigerian government should spend money on education, which they have totally failed at because they have the money to take their children abroad.

Why should the government spend on education? Yes, the Nigerian government needs to spend so much money on education because it is a powerful tool that builds up a nation. A country with a good educational system has the ability to grow faster than a country with a bad educational system.

When there is good education, the masses will be educated enough to understand each other, and everyone will be working towards developments. Take a look at some countries like the USA, China, Israel, Dubai, etc. that have good standards of education to see how good their citizens are.

Educatiois all about advancement and development. Without sound schools in a country, that country will have a lot of illiterates who cannot read or write. In Nigeria, it is so unfortunate that most of the tertiary institutions in the country don't have conducive learning environments, better laboratories, or ICT centers for learning.

All the government knows is stealing, which is the reason why lecturers usually go on strike every year because of the government's inability to spend money on education.

And then one thing they shouldn't spend on, but they do. Please share with us.

"Electoral (election) affairs" is what they shouldn't spend on, but they do for their own selfish gain, which is too bad. The just-concluded presidential election has opened a lot of secrets about how the Nigerian government spends a lot of money on elections. In the recently concluded election, billions of Naira were spent on BVAS.

The federal government of Nigeria gave the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) billions of Naira to run credible and fair elections, which INEC promised everyone but came up with the use of BVAS, which ended up disrupting the entire electoral process.

During the uploading of results, BVAS stopped working, and by the end of the day, the election had become rigged in favor of the ruling party.

Politicians spend Nigerians' money on campaigning and purchasing forms, which is not supposed to be so. When it comes to the electoral system in Nigeria, everyone knows that the system is corrupted, but the government keeps spending on such a system for its own selfish interests.

This is because they know that if they allow the system to be what it ought to be, they will not benefit from it. How can the Nigerian government spend over $5 billion on BVAS that did not work? Indeed, in Nigeria, money is being spent on unimportant things rather than things that can make Nigeria a better country. Thank you for stopping by.

This is very true my friend. Election in Nigeria is one thing that consumes more money than any other thing. I also proposed that elections be done once after every 8 years. I wish you source in the contest
