Demerits of science and technology

It is because of science that the world has evolved and progressed that much. Science and technology have played a very pivotal role in changing the world from squalor. I have always said that if a person from stoneages happened to see this world,he would again die due to shock.It is just because of science that our locomotives are fast. We are connected. The world has now converted into a global village. The living standards have been improved. The civilizations have modernized. Many life-saving medicines and ways have been introduced. The fatal diseases are now easily treatable. The discovery of computers and then mobile phones was a huge milestone.IT and software developments have further accelerated the progress. Science has brought a myriad of advantages .

But science has not just brought good impacts. It is affecting negatively as well. Science is the name of observation, experimenting and discovering. The quest for discoveries has not been fulfilled yet indeed scientists are more parched for discoveries now. Their quest which had yielded marvellous discoveries, also produced very harmful effects on mankind as well. These deleterious effects are many in numbers but I will discuss only a few of them.

As I belong to a medical profession, I would like to spot some steps that I believe are not ethical.

The first matter that I want to put under your ponderance is a recent development. It has been known to all that scientists for a long have been trying to cross breeds and species to produce some individual and breed with common characteristics likewise mule was produced by crossing from horse and donkey. This was good till now but now this has been done with humans as well. Recently a cross product was developed taking humans and cow genes which is claimed to produce milk just like human females. This is initiated by saying it will help kids fulfill their nutrients more rapidly as milk extracted from that cross cow will be highly nourished but was there a need for it? Was just crossing human genes was only option left? What is the feasibility of this project? How that milk will be accessed by impoverished infants? There is no answer to these.
I believe we must not interfere with nature. Nature has enough resources to keep us up. The natural way has always been the best. I believe developing such a cross is an insult to mankind and there will be grave consequences to face in upcoming future.
Secondly though it stopped in the early 90s an attempt was made to produce identical twins. This was nipped in the bud as no religion and societal NGOs allowed it. This was also one of the disastrous steps taken in the quest for discovery.
Openheimmer was a great physicist. The person who possessed an intellectual mind but if we think critically he was also the one who caused much destruction. He developed and designed atomic bombs which have been used just for the destruction and massacre of mankind. Here again, science’s quest proved lethal.
AI is a recently developed tool that is efficient and provides you with the information you want and every work you assign. It looks very good but soon it will go out of control of humans as well the way it is being improved. It has already engulfed jobs of many skilled persons and now it is being used in warfare as well it will yield enormous devastation.
Lastly I believe that arms race should be stopped now. Every country is investing alot to produce unique and updated weapons. This investment is not just inviting dillapidation and carnages but also spreading poverty . The money which must be spent to improve living standards, education, and health, is being spent on defense. This competition must be stopped now.

What is the thing in which science is lagging?

I will say climate change. Climate change is the leading issue of the world today. But no one is focusing on it. The atmosphere of Earth is changing each year. The cycle of weathers has disturbed. Floods,droughts, earthquakes and tsunamis are destroying the earth. Not just a specific territory but the whole world is suffering from it. Though steps are being taken there is a dire need of science to craft ways that will protect the earth from these dire consequences.
