I tend to think that when someone creates art, they are trying to communicate, and communication is never a matter of right or wrong. Of course, there are techniques and concepts that can be learned and refined, but what makes art impactful is not just technique; it’s the intention, the emotion, the story behind it. Someone may be less technically skilled, but if they can convey something that touches someone, to me, that is already real art.
This reminds me a lot of some classes I took in college when I was studying furniture and interior design. We discussed the concept of “the beautiful” all the time. And these were conversations that could go on for hours because each professor had a perspective, each classmate had another, and each design style brought a completely different approach. Some people argued that beauty was about harmony, proportion, and symmetry; others believed beauty was in innovation, the unexpected, or even in something that causes a bit of discomfort. Sometimes I felt a little lost because I had this idea that beauty and aesthetics followed clear rules. But gradually, I realized that beauty and taste are completely subjective. What to me might seem strange, disproportionate, or even ugly could be incredible, inspiring, and moving to someone else. And if we stop to think, it’s like that in many areas of our lives.
I apply this same logic to art in general. So, when someone asks me if there is such a thing as bad art, I think, “Bad for whom?” Because what doesn’t speak to me may speak profoundly to someone else. It might touch memories, feelings, desires, or questions I can’t even imagine. It’s fascinating how the perception of art is so personal, so connected to who we are and our experiences.
And there’s another point: art, in my view, is a process. Sometimes we start creating something that seems awkward or unskilled, but the intention is already there. The experience of creating, of trying to express something inside us, has value in itself. It’s not always about the final result being perfect; it’s about what we put into it and the effect it can have on someone. That’s why I think it’s unfair to label art as bad. It’s as if we’re saying a person doesn’t have the right to express themselves or that the emotion they feel doesn’t matter.
Of course, there are constructive critiques that help artists grow, but that’s different from saying something is definitively bad. Critique can be a tool for learning and refinement, but art itself remains a subjective experience. What really matters is the connection it creates—whether between the artist and the audience, or between the audience and the work itself.
I believe this subjectivity is what makes art so alive. Every gaze, every interpretation, every reaction is part of the work. And that’s beautiful.

Pode até haver alguém que não saiba desenhar perfeitamente, tocar um instrumento com técnica impecável ou escrever com aquele domínio absoluto da língua, mas isso não significa que a expressão que ele ou ela colocou ali não tenha valor.
Eu costumo pensar que, quando alguém faz arte, está tentando se comunicar, e comunicação nunca é uma questão de certo ou errado. Claro, existem técnicas e conceitos que podem ser aprendidos e aperfeiçoados, mas o que faz a arte ser impactante não é só a técnica; é a intenção, a emoção, a história por trás. Talvez alguém seja menos habilidoso tecnicamente, mas se consegue transmitir algo que toca alguém, para mim, isso já é arte de verdade.
Isso me lembra muito algumas aulas que tive na faculdade, quando estudava design de móveis e interiores. A gente discutia o conceito de “o belo” o tempo todo. E isso era uma conversa que poderia durar horas, porque cada professor tinha uma visão, cada colega tinha outra, e cada estilo de projeto trazia uma abordagem completamente diferente. Algumas pessoas defendiam que o belo era harmonia, proporção, simetria; outras acreditavam que beleza estava na inovação, no inesperado, ou até naquilo que provoca certo desconforto. Algumas das vezes eu ficava meio perdida, porque tinha essa ideia de que beleza e estética seguiam regras claras. Mas, aos poucos, percebi que beleza e gosto são absolutamente subjetivos. O que para mim podia parecer estranho, desproporcional ou até feio, para outra pessoa podia ser incrível, inspirador e emocionante. E, se a gente parar pra pensar, é assim em muitas das coisas da nossa vida.
Eu levo essa mesma lógica da arte de forma geral. Então, quando alguém me pergunta se existe arte ruim, eu penso: “ruim pra quem?” Porque aquilo que não fala comigo pode falar profundamente pra outra pessoa. Pode tocar memórias, sentimentos, desejos ou questionamentos que eu nem consigo imaginar. É fascinante como a percepção de arte é tão pessoal, tão ligada a quem somos e às nossas experiências.
E tem outro ponto: a arte, na minha visão, é um processo. Às vezes a gente começa fazendo algo que parece desajeitado, sem técnica, mas a intenção já está ali. A experiência de criar, de tentar expressar algo que está dentro da gente, tem valor em si mesma. Não é sempre sobre o resultado final ser perfeito; é sobre o que a gente coloca naquilo e o efeito que aquilo pode ter em alguém. Por isso, acho injusto rotular arte como ruim. É como se a gente estivesse dizendo que uma pessoa não tem direito de se expressar ou que a emoção que ela sente não importa.
É claro que existem críticas construtivas que ajudam artistas a crescerem, mas isso é diferente de dizer que algo é ruim de forma definitiva. A crítica pode ser uma ferramenta de aprendizado, de refinamento, mas a arte em si continua sendo uma experiência subjetiva. O que realmente importa é a conexão que se cria – seja entre o artista e o público, seja entre o público e a própria obra.
Eu acredito que essa subjetividade é o que torna a arte tão viva. Cada olhar, cada interpretação, cada reação faz parte da obra. E isso é lindo.

Adoro a possibilidade de a arte ser uma forma de se expressar de demostrar sentimentos guardados.
Eu penso a mesma coisa, fazer a arte seja ela como for, vem muito de demonstrar tipo, o que você pensar de uma coisa ou de uma visão de algo e pode ser que ao transmitir isso, algumas pessoas não entendam a mensagem, se elas não entendem logo elas acham que a sua arte é ruim, mas na verdade tudo é interpretação daquilo que está sendo mostrado.
É como dizemos no mundo gamer "não é porque você não gosta do jogo que ele é ruim" xD
