I think it's unrealistic to think that it will be free forever but there will always be a standard free version. The tech has to continue being open source. A possible monetization route is paying a fee to use the api when trying to build something on top of it.

    There is a professional plan and a free plan available.Sadly, I don’t think the free plan would be readily accessible when it is needed.
