Regulating childbirth an advantage to society

My nation isn't among those nations that regulate how many kids a family can have, for reasons best known to them, in the southern part of the nation I'm from, I don't think this regulation thing is even gonna be possible cause you can't tell an ijaw man the number of children to have, they would tell you "is God that gives children". Knowing the number of kids one should have solely depends on the couple, and it's their choice to make, or should I say freedom of giving birth.

People give birth for different reasons, there is fulfillment in it, and it's a sign that one isn't barren, which is a good thing, then from the scriptural aspect of it "Children are a heritage from God" giving birth isn't the problem but what's more important Is the capacity and financial strength needed in catering for these children, some families don't evaluate themselves before giving birth, imagine someone who earns less than the minimum wage has two wives and seven children, how do they cope? In cases like this, if the government is involved it will enable families to go through a proper evaluation before giving birth, so the families can be able to cater for the amount of children they have and give them a proper education.

There is this thing people say that I find an atom of truth in "Rich men give birth to few children they can cater for while the average man will give birth to a dozen" Why is that? There is nothing wrong with giving birth to a certain amount of children if the fund is there, but if the fund isn't there, it should be regulated. I've seen how people will give birth and send the child to go live with an extended family member, cause they can't afford to cater for the child and it won't end there, they would still be giving birth and sending them out to family members or friends, and besides not all of them get lucky to fall into the right hands, you know what's gonna happen to those that fall into the wrong hands right and which is "maltreatment".

Do you think the government should be involved in such a thing?

Well, I've given it careful thought and my answer is "yes" I feel the childbirth rate should be regulated depending on the income of the persons involved, when parents give birth to more than they can take care of, most of these children end up becoming a menace to the society, thereby causing insecurity in the nation, people's lives and properties will be at risk, a proper evaluation should be taken into consideration before anyone gives birth, there should be an authority in charge of that, doing this will reduce the rate at which children suffer, imagine children hawking at the market while their mates are in school, these moments break my heart.

Would it make things any better?

Having a regulatory body regulating the size of a family will create an opportunity for every child to have a better and quality education, I think one major reason our nation is suffering today is the "population", it will reduce the population rate and increase our resources. Every child deserves better and it's our priority to create that better life for them as parents.

There's so much wisdom in this post.

I totally agree with everything you pointed out. I also think that the government should regulate the number of kids a couple should have based on their income. Kids should be taken care of properly, so that they can contribute positively to society.

Yeah, you are very correct, children who are properly taken care of can only contribute positively to society but then some kids are properly taken care of but still contribute negatively to society. What causes that?
