Engagement:
Find Community which are interesting to you and engage with the Authors of that community by meaningful comments. Often Newcomers fail to recognize it, and just post without engaging. Communities are where people with common interest and hobbies post and engage. For example If you are a Newcomer than Hive Learners is Best Community for you. Engagement is most important thing for longevity on Hive. Avoid two word comments like Nice Post, Beautiful Picture etc. Engage with others with genuine and meaningful comments according to their posts. Also try to engage with your own audience. The worst thing Newcomers do after making a post is to not respond to comments of their own posts. when people engage your post by commenting then it is your responsibility to reply these
comments.
Self Introduction Post:
The self introduction is about you. Your first post on Hive Blockchain should be self introduction post and also use #self-introduction tag in your post. You should answer the following question in this post.
- Who you are?
- Where you're from?
- Your Hobbies and Interests
- What type of content can people expect from you?
- How you found out about Hive?
@Hivewatchers suggested newbies to Verify identity. This post is about you not your family. Community is not interested in your parent's name and occupation and how many uncles and aunties and cousins you have. Also Write, how you found out about Hive, and if a friend referred you, mention them in your post.
Follow Community Rules :
Every Community have some Etiquette or Rules. For example if you are in Hive Learners Community. First of all verify your identity before posting any content in this community. Use "stage" tag only when you are writing your Task in any stage if you are posting any other content then Don't use stage tag. Try to post one post daily and write minimum three meaningful comments on other member's posts.
Share Post Once :
Don't share the same post in different communities. Some Newcomers write a post and share it on their blog then share same post in one community then other community. It is not acceptable in Hive blockchain. It will get you downvoted quickly. There is only a cross-posting feature which allow you to share your post in more than one community.
Avoid Plagiarism:
As I write in my previous post Plagiarism , According to the oxford dictionary "Plagiarism is presenting someone else’s work or ideas as your own, with or without their consent, by incorporating it into your work without full acknowledgement."
Its meaning in Hive Blockchain is, "Using any others content in your post without citing" and it is strictly prohibited or ban here.
If you want to use any picture or other content then mention its source with the content.

Write Interesting Post:
Think about your own search habits. You enter the keyword and get a lot of search posts. If the title of a post doesn’t interest you, your eyes just slide off it and you keep looking until you see a title that looks relevant and interesting. So, put your efforts in your contents. Describe your thoughts, inspirations, and processes. If you have pictures of some flowers then instead of using only one photo in one post, you share all your photos in one post and putting more efforts into explaining the context.
