In Bangladesh there is a huge majority of people who thinks that the school, college, or university you attend is very important. I personally do not think that it matters in every case, like it's not as much as some people glorifies it. I believe it depends on the person and varies from people to people. Like if someone gives their 100% into learning and knows how to use the opportunities available, it will be beneficial for them at any place they study.
The school you attend can influence you for many things, like if the environment is not good then you will experience a bad time and it may leave an effect for your entire life. Every school provides teachers, facilities, and learning environments. The only difference is the methods of teaching or the rules. Some schools may have better clubs, or activities that can help the students become better. Also, if you find good friends they can leave a big impact in your life. If the teachers are supportive they will motivate you to study harder and help you become a better person.
However, I do not think that only a good institution can build good students, a good character or a good character. It never depends on the name of a school. If a student is dedicated enough they can learn from anywhere. They won't need high facilities. For example, If there two different students and they study in different institutions but they are studying same subjects and studies equally hard then they are gaining similar knowledge. In the end, learning depends greatly on the student's attitude and dedication.
There are some people who wants to feel pride by saying the names of a famous institution they studied in. I don't think anyone should do that, they should focus more in their life to make it better. And not try to show off every now and then to make others feel less. I have seen some students who finished their studies from high reputed institutions. When they hear about someone being successful through a local institution which is not famous, they would make fun of it.
They try to make themselves feel bigger than others. But the other person who studied in a local institution, they have the same knowledge and people would still try to make them feel embarrassed. Even though some people studied from high reputed institution they did not learn the main thing which is humanity, they forgot to build a good character but got egoistic instead. It's a good thing they got the opportunity to study in a well known institute but that's not their identity they should achieve something in life and not take prides in such things.
If I could go back in time, I would not change my school. Because what I've learned is a experience which has helped me to be the person who I am today. My good and bad experiences helped to shape my life, so I have no regrets in life. I believe everything happened for a good reason. I would not blame my school if I could not become successful, I would take the accountability and accept it. The decisions I made are my own and it has nothing to do with my school. If I do not study hard what's the point of blaming my school.
If I had studied in different school which had a stronger reputation, I don't think that it would change a thing if I did not study hard or had any dedication. So, those experiences, both good and bad, are valuable because they teach important life lessons. I also believe no school is perfect they can't guarantee success. It will always depend on the effort and determination of the student. Therefore, institution is not the only factor that determines success. Our dedication, hard work, willingness to learn are much more important in the long run.

I totally agree with you. A student performance is key compared to a prestigious institution. It is an immature thinking that a popular school is the main thing
