Veronica persica - common names: birdeye speedwell, common field-speedwell,Persian speedwell, large field speedwell, bird's-eye, or winter speedwell.
This is a really pretty tiny flower that grows like a ground cover.
I saw it on my walk yesterday.
Veronica persica is an annual or winter annual herb that reproduces from seed.
It's considered a weed that people don't want in their lawns, but I think it is beautiful!
It is currently blooming, so I'm thinking the 6.5 days below freezing we eperienced about a week ago didn't hurt this plant! :)
Have a Blessed Day!

I love these flowers when they grow in the rock gravel of pathways, because they are low growing spreaders, and they are not injured from being stepped on frequently. When we moved to our current house, I pulled a few of these up from the root at the old house, and planted them at the new location, and they continued to grow and spread seeds for new plants. They never become overly infested, so I consider them a welcomed weed that goes away and grows back to bloom in early Spring.
Thank you for posting this. For a long time I have been wondering what their name is.
I think it is beautiful too. And they look lovely in the lawn :)
Lovely little ground cover flower.
Love it summer is coming
