Since June of last year, when Medium opened its doors to Pakistan, I haven’t even earned $10 in total from all those months combined. The minimum withdrawal amount is $10, yet Medium kept charging me $5 per month for membership.
So why did I buy the Medium membership? Because it still helps with their algorithm, just like how a Twitter/X membership boosts your reach there.
Also, every Medium blog I publish includes a canonical link to the original Hive post. If I can convert Medium users into Hivians, that’s a win-win. And if Medium gets a few new paid memberships along the way, that’s a win for them too.
I get around 5 reads a day on average. Read is when someone scrolls for 30 seconds on your blog on medium.
