I'm not sure what I can add to this awesome detailed analysis, but here are my 2 cents: By expanding the potential earning avenues, we can afford to put more effort and time into that one project. So little bit from lots of places ends up covering the time and expenses. :)
Also it removes some stress (sometimes adds other stress), but it's all about finding the right balance. In the end what's important is realizing what we want to achieve and how we can do that. (instead of doing the opposite and just chasing the money, then regretting the time spent)

Yea. I think that's some magic stuff right there. Higher value invested into each project, and compensate for that time invested by multiple income streams.
Artists have some interesting potentials with HIVE + ETH + Kickstarter + Patreon + Shopify.
etc.
Just depends on what your projects look like.
