In downtown Vernon... Omar's (collectibles), Simply Delicious (grocery), and The Fig (diner) are friendly, understanding, knowledgeable, and reasonable. Mask exemptions honoured without questions, etc.
London Drugs is also good. It's not intimidating and there's no "greeter"...just ignore the signage haha. Freshco is also good, but there is sometimes a "greeter"....just ignore the goofy artwork on the window.
Funny how a lot of the private businesses put up masks signs but a lot of the chains don't bother anymore, it's probably because we forced the businesses to disclose that there are medical exceptions, so they'd rather not put any sign at all.
I'm happy to see that a lot of private businesses getting less aggressive with the mask signage...like putting up one sign in the corner instead of 5 signs with red, highlighting, bold, etc. Also happy to see fellow activists posting the mask exemption posters on posts on the main drag! :)
