Yeah life is just too interesting to ever want it to go away, possible life on Venus is very interesting, and even if we don't find any there sure will be a lot more focus on confirming what it is they have found.
And if there is life on Venus, then I would be very surprised if we do not find life in any other place within our own solar system too, maybe life spreads in space in some way, who knows.
Sorry to hear that Covid is rising in Canada, here in Sweden it looks like there won't be a second season, the regular flu is on the rise, but not Covid.
