The laptop and phone he is using are designed by: Product Quality Engineers, Compliance Specialist, Server Specialist, IoT Solution Architect, Database Engineers, UI/UX Engineers, Software Engineers and several others. The SIM cards on his phones are produced by certain companies, each with their own leagues of specialists. The 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G Internet services on his Subscriber Identity Modules are managed by telecommunications companies like MTN, GLO, Airtel, Etisalat that have specialists at the backend.
This "comedian" has cars, too, and his favourite being Mercedes-Benz. It's the crass road transportation technological crave amongst certain young male people. The production of these big-boys-toys require the services of: DevOps Engineers, IT Infrastructure Experts, System Engineers, Cloud Operations Engineers, and Systems Automation and Integration Engineers. The fuel his car runs on cannot exist without the exploratory works of Geoscientists, the drilling and production activities of Petroleum Engineers, the hydrocarbon processing knowledge of Chemical Engineers, and distribution to final consumers by numerous individuals locked somewhere in the economic chain.
This comedian likes travelling for tourism, especially to the United Arab Emirates, Dubai being his favourite destination. The airliner, Emirates, among several others like Arik Air, KLM, Lufthansa, and Delta Airline, have fleet of aircrafts built by: Aeronautical, Aerospace, Airframe, Avionics, Electrical, and Mechanical Engineers. This Dubai he loves visiting so much became such a world attraction centre because of the experts riding on her technology curve.
Like very many other youths, he cannot do without taking drugs. His favourites are: Tramadol, Codeine, Rohypnol, and several other cough syrups. How would these be produced without their corresponding pharmaceutical companies each having staff strength that comprise Biochemists, Pharmacists, Bio-medical Engineers, and several others. He like cannabis, too. The rolling papers and their additive chemicals are products of certain companies, under the watchdog of certain regulatory policies.
His acclaimed paper monies he uses for show on Snapchat, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, built and maintained by teams of programmers and engineers, are minted by the Nigerian Security Printing/Minting Company Limited Plc (NSPM) and issued by the Central Bank of Nigeria. The technologies used in the intaglio printing require the joint collaboration of numerous experts. We have not even talked about the banking services from GTB, FBN, FCMB, or other banks he patronises. These places have staff, and they are people who studied certain courses in order to be useful in those spaces.
And then we talk about his wrist watches, neck chains, footwears, clothes, and numerous other things he houses as either assets or liabilities. Technology is behind all of them, and they are managed by people. What if everyone decides to be like this "comedian"? Well, there will be purchasing power but with nothing to buy. Eventually, there will be developmental retrogression. We will slip back into the dark age. Things that are existing will be unable to be sustained and maintained. Eventually, we will wipe out ourselves.
I am because you are. The society is interconnected. We win.
The message is in details. Every one doing something that is valuable to someone else is essential. Not everyone can be a an entrepreneur, not everyone can be a doctor, not everyone can be a teacher, but all these people are doing their part to better society. The good ones that is. And even the bad ones are necessary to teach us some lessons in life.
I would like to go to Dubai someday though. :)
