Hola amigos de Hive, envío un saludo especial a la comunidad de We are Alive Tribe. Hoy quiero compartir con ustedes la experiencia de lo que fue mi primera cena navideña junto a mis amistades. Una noche bastante especial entre amigos, en la cual cenamos la tradicional Hallaca, con ensalada rusa y pan de jamón, una comida navideña muy propia de mi país Venezuela que abunda en las mesas cada mes de Diciembre.
Hello friends of Hive, I send a special greeting to the We are Alive Tribe community. Today I want to share with you the experience of what was my first Christmas dinner with my friends. A very special night among friends, in which we dined the traditional Hallaca, with Russian salad and ham bread, a Christmas food very typical of my country Venezuela that abounds in the tables every December.
La idea de esta cena fue de mi amiga @nayshot, quien propuso que nos reuniésemos para disfrutar del clásico plato navideño aprovechando la estadía temporal de algunas de nuestras amistades que viven en el extranjero. Yo fui el encargado de organizar este evento, comunicarme con el Restaurant, y con los asistentes a la cena, los cuales en un principio eran 10 u 11, pero por distintas razones a varios de los invitados se les dificultó y finalmente fuimos 7 quienes asistimos.
The idea for this dinner came from my friend @nayshot, who proposed that we get together to enjoy the classic Christmas dish, taking advantage of the temporary stay of some of our friends who live abroad. I was in charge of organizing this event, communicating with the Restaurant, and with those attending the dinner, which at first were 10 or 11, but for various reasons to several of the guests it was difficult and finally we were 7 who attended.
La cena se llevó a cabo en un Restaurant de la ciudad de San Cristóbal, llamado Casa Gourmet, mi amiga @paoladiaz se encargó de buscarnos a la mayoría para llegar todos juntos al local, fue divertido por que íbamos en el vehículo como aquel clásico auto miniatura de payasos del cual jamás terminan de salir.
The dinner was held at a restaurant in the city of San Cristobal, called Casa Gourmet, my friend @paoladiaz was in charge of looking for most of us to get all together to the place, it was fun because we were in the vehicle as that classic miniature car of clowns which never end up leaving.
Una vez en el local, pedimos una cubeta de 10 cervezas por un total de 8$, sin embargo mi amiga Paola tenía mucha hambre y sugirió que nos sirvieran la cena de inmediato, esperamos un par de minutos y nos sirvieron el plato, que pueden ver a continuación, incluye, la Hallaca, ensalada rusa, Pan de Jamón, y queso amarillo. La comida estaba deliciosa aunque debo reconocer que he probado mejores hallacas, creo que nuestra paladar en cuanto a las Hallacas puede ser bastante exigente pues hemos comida muchas en nuestra vida, cada navidad todas las familias hacen sus propias hallacas y realizan intercambios, es casi toda una tradición en intercambio de hallacas.
Once in the place, we ordered a bucket of 10 beers for a total of 8$, however my friend Paola was very hungry and suggested that they serve us dinner immediately, we waited a couple of minutes and they served us the dish, which you can see below, it includes, the Hallaca, Russian salad, Ham Bread, and yellow cheese. The food was delicious although I must admit that I have tasted better hallacas, I think our palate in terms of Hallacas can be quite demanding because we have eaten many in our lives, every Christmas all families make their own hallacas and make exchanges, it is almost a tradition in exchange of hallacas.
Para quienes no conocen de qué se trata esta comida, se hacen con Harina de Maíz, rellena de carne de cerdo o pollo, con aceitunas, uvas pasas, o ciruelas, y algunos vegetales con los que se sazona la carne, cuyos trocitos forman parte del relleno, esta se cocina envuelta en una hoja de plátano amarrada con hilo. El origen de esta comida se remonta a la época de la esclavitud, en donde los esclavos mezclaban los sobrantes de comida y este fue el sabroso resultado.
For those who do not know what this food is about, it is made with corn flour, stuffed with pork or chicken, olives, raisins, or prunes, and some vegetables with which the meat is seasoned, whose pieces are part of the filling, this is cooked wrapped in a banana leaf tied with string. The origin of this food goes back to the slavery era, where slaves mixed leftover food and this was the tasty result.
Los hijos de mis amigas jugaron en el parque infantil, y los adultos conversamos y bebimos cerveza. La noche estuvo llena de interesantes charlas, sobre todo tipo de temas, temas espirituales, políticos, anécdotas del pasado, e incluso temas paranormales, conversación de la cual forma parte mi amiga @valeriachacon, cabe resaltar.
My friends' children played in the playground, and the adults talked and drank beer. The night was full of interesting chats, about all kinds of topics, spiritual, political, anecdotes from the past, and even paranormal topics, conversation of which my friend @valeriachacon is part of, it is worth mentioning.
La noche terminó cuando empezaron a cerrar el Restaurant. Fue una experiencia bastante grata, nuestra primera cena navideña entre amigos empezando el mes de diciembre, pronto habrá más cenas navideñas, para nosotros los venezolanos Diciembre es el mes de las hallacas, y muchos la comen, al desayuno, al almuerzo y a la cena.
The night ended when they began to close the restaurant. It was quite a pleasant experience, our first Christmas dinner among friends starting the month of December, soon there will be more Christmas dinners, for us Venezuelans December is the month of hallacas, and many eat it, at breakfast, lunch and dinner.
