Raised Bed Saga Continues - IAAC - Day 5

▶️ Watch on 3Speak

Another hot day - temps went up to 101 Fahrenheit - somewhere between 35 and 40 Celcius. Talk about sweating hard.
I am grateful that we still got some work done and that we have some awesome shade trees in the yard.
Now, it is evening and it is still hot - but a nice hot. that is actually unusual for our area. Usually, it gets cold in the evening (cold for us lol).
Day Five of the I am Alive Challenge!! Yay!

Great post. loving the updates on the garden beds- looks like you have done a lot in the last few days too!

I have a very good friend (originally from Melbourne) that lives in a small village in Tanzania and has a charity called Testigo Africa, https://testigoafrica.org/ where she raises funds to help the local villagers build systems to get fresh drinking water and to create more sustainable ways to live-especially for the women there and one of those ways is a permaculture gardens for the whole village.

I think you 2 would get on very well! (I'm trying to get here on the Hive...)

I think I would love to meet her!!
I am almost ready to get my podcast going again - that would be a fantastic interview.
Maybe you can entice her to make money for her charity here. And you know, there are many Africans on here and on Uptrennd that make a living with their online posting. If they have wifi access, that might be another way towards a better life.
Going to check out her charity. Thank you so much!

Yes that exactly what I am trying to do and in that, I am also working with a few other Hiveans in the new charity community here to help create an effective, sustainable and self-perpetuating charity community and Dapp (in the long term) too, to host many of the smaller charities and individuals on there to help them raise funds for their needs and projects.

Would you be interested in giving us any ideas/suggestions/feedback???

Here is the link here for the project board that we have been working on.
So far we have 4 of us from Germany, the UK, Uganda and me here in Melbs.

Interesting. i will check it out for sure. Did Fundition go away? They used to do a lot of support and had funding behind them.
I have been very limited on STeem/HIve when all the fighting and craziness was going on. I am still just dipping my toes. It is easy to get consumed 🤪

I have vaguely heard of Fundition, but not looked into it yet, but it's not on Hive though is it?

Question - since you have green fingers and you know so much about gardening
I have these white insects sitting behind the leaves of my beans and tomatoes - boooo
I have seen this happen before and they eventually kill my plants
And it looks like it might be happening again after looking like it was going to fruit
What would you suggest I do to shoo these fellas away

Since i can't see them - it either could be mildew or maybe some little bugs. buts, you can spray away with water or a soapy solution - just a little bit of dish soap in a spray bottle and wash them off.
Mildew - I don't know if you get that in a tropical climate -but let me sent you a link. https://www.thespruce.com/powdery-mildew-1402500
If it is mildew, please use the non-poisonous ways to treat them :)

I have hosed them down with water - with a vengeance too, they fly off and then come back. This is what they look like... The Hubs says they are called White Flies
